New Age
Yesterday was my Birthday. I turned 24. My roommate told me that its actually a completion of that year, so technically i finished being 24 and now is making my journey of 25. Hmmm, well it makes more sense when you think of yourself as already 1 when you're born bc you're not zero age for sure. Who knows. Anyways,on Wednesday I received a care package/birthday present from my sister. She sent me tones of candy, with hot choco mix, tea, etc. Her present is an adorable mug that's perfect for my often-tea drinking. That cheered me up tremendously bc I was all stressed out in the mist of midterms. Also, she gave me some mula which is an extra booster for my broke-ass student self. I loved it all, so very thoughtful of her.
THURS: I had a good day yesterday. I woke up to my roommate Lauren giving me a reheated New Jersey blueberry muffin, with a candle shoved into it__ which we cant light for me to blow out anyways bc its against dorm regulations. But it was cute anyways, so she's been keeping it frozen all week without my knowledge. Also she gave me a supersoft PJ set from Lord&Taylor. For dinner, our classmate Brooke (who also lives in the dorm bldg) treated me to an order-in dinner from my fav chinese restaurant. We were gonna go out but it was freezing so decided not to, which turned out to be very nice. After stuffing ourselves silly, Lauren, little Miss Martha Stewart__ brought out another surprise for me___she made me a delicious chocolate cake made out of brownie mix. (Dont ask me how I was oblivious to that sitting in the freezer. Well she wrapped it up really well, making me think the little girl has an apetite of a rhino.) So we got to spread choco fudge all over it, added strawberries and crunch-bar pieces___ yummmmieee. It was so sweet of them, its good to have good friends. And throughout the day, my friends calld to wish me a happy bday. Glad to hear from my best friend Crystal, we tight like that. ehe. (Its ok folks if you forgot, I know we have busy lives and it was on a wkday. I forgive u ^_^).
And as a present for myself, I got a gorgeous JCrew jacket that costs enough for me to not want another coat for the next 5-10 years. Love it.
So here I am, a year older and feeling the early effects of midliefe crisis. ehe jk. I'm where I want to be and pursuing what I want to do. Life's been good to me, and I'm happy to be able to still have those genuine ppl around me for the trip.
