....or just reasonably knowledgeable connected friends...;)
Well, it's been 6 years since I dated a computer geek,so what little edge I gained is gone and I am once again one of the uninitiated hordes seeking to unravel the mysteries of the Internet. :)
All this to say: I've gotten the heads-up to look around for Internet plans for home!! *drywashes hands and grins diabolically*
So: Dial=up is NOT an option, and we don't have cable, so I'm looking at DSL.
I insist on free activation and DSL hardware/equipment, and have found two plans that look good to me.As far as downstreaming/upstreaming requirements go, I'm not a gamer, but I would like to hook into i-tunes or the equivalent and move music and maybe some movie files over the net.
Please to read the following and share your educated opinion of aforesaid:
1) Verizon DSL - free act. and equipment - $30/month
2) Earthlink DSL - ditto and also $30/month
Thank you all, and forgive the boring, mundane nature of this entry, and think of responding as an investment in ME! If I have internet that means I can actually CHAT online (gasp!) update regularly without wondering who's looking over my shoulder, and generally be more available to my long-distance honies! (that would be...oh....ALL OF MY FRIENDS!!) (sigh)
