Spring has progressed, and the Garden is growing. The Garden always grows, even in the winter, but it is different this time; this time the tree in the center does not follow the pattern of the seasons, but instead a slower, deeper pattern, mimicking the healing of the one lying at its roots.
Over the days, the bare branches begin to bud, the bark regains its normal, healthy colour, no longer bleached pale and sickly. Burned patches are replaced by new, healthy bark, and leaves begin to sprout, fresh and green.
As the tree shows signs of healing, so too does the man sleeping at the roots, or not quite sleeping.
It's almost time.
