The sunrises are getting more and more beautiful over Lake Michigan; spring has sprung in Chicago. Flowers are in blossom, tree branches are sprouting little blossoms of green, and the air smells fresh and new. And today, I got to take advantage of it.
Ben and I woke up around 11:00 this morning, and headed out to Lincoln Park, our old neighborhood, to do some boutique shopping and get our hair done. Today was the first time since we moved to the loop that we'd left the downtown area. It was nice to get away, though we realized as soon as we were on the train headed north that the city has made us quite the arrogant little duo. Some of you may argue that I've been arrogant long before Chicago came into my life, though.
The Lincoln Park trip was primarily for hair appointments, but we stopped in a few shops while we were out, too. I got a great new Jack Spade bag for spring, from a really cute boutique called Spare Parts; they retail a lot of designer handbags and accessories. It's a really trendy shop. You Chicagoan's should check it out (2947 N. Broadway).
And, one can't shop on Broadway without hitting up the Pleasure Chest. Seventy dollars in new lube - should be a great evening.
Lunch at Panera. MmMmmMMMmmMMmmmm. After that came haircut time, where some cute girl who loves Hello kitty did a dynamite job putting together my spring faux-hawk thing. Maybe I'll do new pictures.
I helped Michael with his new Live Journal tonight, that was fun. Michael's a friend of mine from near Toledo, Ohio. We've talked for two years now. I love my Michael David Charles Kramb. (see, I remember your full name, too, sir!)
On a lighter note, I did something today I never thought I'd do. I purchased a video game controller for Ben's PS2. This means I've opened the gates to being forced to play video games! Ahhh!!! Anyone who knows me knows I don't condone such behavior. Talk about love. I definitely broke a rule today when I did that. The cutest part was that Ben knows how I despise video games, and was completely flattered that I bought the thing. And, he got a new video game, too.
Tonight it started storming, another true sign of spring. Quite the storm, actually; I haven't seen such dark clouds over Lake Michigan in all my time in Chicago. The wind was chilly, and the sky got dark really fast - so we kept the windows open and watched the little hurricane roar 24 stories below us. What a view. I'm so thankful every day for such a great view from my condo. They say you pay for the view... I wouldn't trade my lake view for all the skyline views in Chicago.
I'm being pestered for sex, I'd better go. I promise to start updating more!
Sweetest of dreams.
