If there is one thing that should have been learned in the wake of the Iraq debacle, it is to view every piece of innuendo and inference offered by the government with a healthy skepticism. James Madison was right: “The truth is that all men having power ought to be mistrusted.”

Isn't it odd that after the withdraw announcements, things have been very quiet in Iraq for the past two months? Of course, there was no AQI in Iraq until the US invasion.
Our puppet dictator in Iraq who we trained and allowed to stay in because he kept things under control with fear and brutality. When he stepped out of line, and tried to cut the strings, we took out his military in 91. Then for years our economic hitmen tried to cripple him and the country. He refused to be our puppet again. Our jackals tried to take out Saddam. His security forces to too good, loyal. Besides he had all those look-alike doubles. If you were one of his guards and you're tempted to accept a bribe, you know that you shoot a double, you and your family will die horrible, slow deaths. So when EHMs and jackals fail, we send in the troops. Most of the time steps 1 and 2 work.
..
I wonder if this was just a test to see how well we could quell a prolonged insurrection. Now we have an excuse to have 'indefinite' wars with an 'indefinable' enemy. The limitless trading of freedoms for securities. The war on terror easily transfer to a war on you. The reason to keep war going is to make a killing off all of that killing. To constantly learning new counter tactics and testing technologies. It all boils down to power and control. Power and control of resources and people.
If there was not terrorists in Iraq ten years ago there are definitely some now.
Like you said though, one man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter.
