Day Two and I went exploring. I had my new 30-day bus card which I bought yesterday and figured I needed to do a couple of important things

Edinburgh is so pretty! Your photos all make me Scotland sick -- I lived in St Andrews for four years for university and I don't think I've ever been so in love with a place!
:O you found the william wallace cow, I wanted to see that one but havent found him yet!!!! *jealous* lol.
You are right Edinburgh as a city doesnt compare to Sydney. But I found Edinburgh to be more sized like Brisbane and built like Melbourne - minus the trams (we have groovy buses with small names instead though ;)).
RBS are pains in my backside, you may remember my many posts about my bank. Well that's THEM. The good thing about them though for you is that when you have an enquiry you get to talk to your actual branch oppose to a call centre in india - like most of the banks.
Which one is the william wallace one? The one at the top? He's right with the skeleton cow but at the top of that *thing*. I probably wouldn't have seen him but for those huge white birds (are they albatross?!)
My mothers side of the family are scottish, and i plan to retire up there when im old and senile hehe.
Sounds like you are enjoying everything so far! Don't worry so much about bus stops; in the city they shouldn't be too far apart. Wait till you get out in to the countryside, and you will probably be looking at one every 20 miles or soemthing haha!
Oh shit....my typing is all over the place today 'cause I'm sneakily trying to do this from work....*looks furtively around to make sure no-one has noticedy*
I meant to say "know" and "pun" in that last comment and now I'm starting to worry that I'm a latent alcholic or something 'cause what I actually typed was "NOW PUB" (although that's not actually a bad idea come to think of it.

I'm on the other side of the fence, I've lived in a country my whole life that has 9 months of summer a year. I WANT to experience a real winter :D.
The last two days have been more like an Australian winter (ie hot) but today is cooler. It's actually making me realise that the heaviest jacket I have (it's actually a very light jacket) mightn't actually be enough for summer here as i initially thought! :S
