Got up at 6:15 yesterday morning, had a shower and started working again. After scrubbing walls Sunday night, my hands were stinging using the cleaners, and having to carry the load of heavy junk I had to carry didn't help. I kept expecting Kham to turn up early, but there was no sign of her.
My friend turned up at 9am, and we started packing all the big stuff. Most of it was pretty easy going, once we realised taking it out the backdoor was easier than trying to get it out the front door like we bought it all in. However my desk still weighed a ton. We left my place between 11 and 11:30 to go drop the first load off at Toony, and when we got back about 1:15, Kharma and her sister and her BIL were finally there.
I walked into the backdoor and was greeted with an icy welcome that would make antarctica jealous. They were pissed off at me for some reason. Why? Cause I wasn't there when they got there? I had worked until 2am that morning, and then had been up again at 6am, don't you DARE suggest I haven't been pulling my weight when they didn't get there until after 11am. Not to mention, I had to do everything myself while Kharma had her boyfriend and rellies to help.
I got in to finish what I was doing, and every step of the way I my hands were stinging with the cleaning products. We got most of it done pretty quickly though, but by 3:15 they were gone and I was left to fix up the last few things, mop the floors, get rid of all the garbage they left that didn't fit in the bins drop off the keys and stuff. At least everything had gone well. We hadn't had any breakages, and nothing that was going to kill our bond. Until we were on our way out. We loaded up my sofa and chairs on the truck and moved the truck forward a touch so we could tie them down. But as the truck moved forward, I swear one of the chairs decided they didn't like the truck and actually jumped off! I saw it in slow motion and being at the other end of the driveway, knew there was no way I was going to get there in time. Luckily nothing was so seriously broken that a hammer couldn't fix it.
Finally everything was done by 4:30.
It was only then I realised that Kharma hadn't returned my DVD's or CDs. She hadn't said a single word about them. Was I surprised? No. I sent her a message asking when I was going to get them, but again no-surprise, there was no reply. This is really starting to piss me off. I hate being such a nag, and I hate that she's trying to make me feel that my DVD and CD's aren't worth getting back, or that she doesn't have them. She even has the nerve to try and turn it back on me saying I left them in QLD at Christmas, when we both know perfectly well she had them in her room only a few weeks ago. She's trying to make me out to be the bad guy in this, just cause I don't want to lose my things which I will have to replace if she doesn't return them. I hate that I would be horrified if I was behaving the same way as she is, and once again, she doesn't seem to care about her behavour. She never thinks she does anything wrong. At least I don't have to worry about that anymore. It's going to take me a long time probably to recover from all of this, but I so need the rest. I just need to be around people who aren't so self absorbed for once, to remember it isn't a worldwide epidemic, but rather it is just centralised to one person..
When I finally got home and got everything unpacked I went into the kitchen and had a cup of coffee. That was the first time I noticed that I had dried blood under my fingernails. With all the scrubbing and detergents and stuff, my hands were a nightmare. Even today, they're a collection of deep cracked cuts, bruises and blisters ouching at everything I do. Even typing hurts!
I fell asleep in my new room thinking this new place reminded me of my grand mothers house. Hearing the television on in the next room (I was zonked out by 11:30 and they were still watching) bought back the memories of staying at my grandmothers place when I was so young I went to bed before the adults. It was nice. I don't know why Kharma used to get so pissed off when she could hear my television even when it was on soft, that didn't bother me at all...
