I took Charlie (my car) to get inspected today and he failed. I'm very upset. He passed everything but the emergency brake test (of all fucking things), which I'm surprised about. For some reason, I thought Charlie would fail the emissions test because I'm paranoid. But he passed! But how did my E brake fail? I think I've used my E brake once since I've gotten my car, and that was when I was parked on a really steep hill.
Now I'm wondering if this is a recent issue, or if the E brake has been busted since I bought my car in June of 2008, but the guys just half assed the previous inspections (I went to a different place this year because my mom's car failed at the place we usually get our cars inspected at).
The nice guy at the inspection place told me that the wire might need to be tightened, which shouldn't be an issue. Worst case scenario would be replacing the wire completely, which might be costly. We shall see. Poor Charlie!
