I attempted possolli (sp?) with no recipe I can find, just thawed
out pork tenderloin and charred poblano peppers (frozen before I went in
hospital)and the memory of what Jan cooked for us.
I had hominy, chicken stock and onions, so we'll just make do with
the results. I had help but just needed to cook something with my
own seasonings. My house smells so good, like cumin and garlic.
I'm sure I forgot something but it will be fine. I also cut some
sweet red peppers into strips for "salad".
Gary made bacon and eggs for breakfast. I toasted the whole wheat
english muffins. We had honey butter, also made and frozen before I
got sick. I had a darn good pantry and freezer stash.
We are restocking a bit at a time.
Yesterday I wobbled to the farmers market, a short version of our usual trip, and the cheese guy gave me a bouquet of flowers! It's so nice to be missed by my foodie friends. We really needed to get the local fresh cider - 2 gallons - that helps me stay happy while I have to use painkillers.
Gary's gone to Aldi's and Target for me but called to say he's coming home now to eat. Maybe I'll try to go with him to Sappington market for another list of stuff. I need to walk around a bit and like the people there too. It's like a cross between a farmers market adn a grocery story but inside so I can do it OK. I want to pick out my own cauliflower for a soup and maybe potatoes too.
It's nippy here but sunshine is cheerful. I can't stay inside all day. I promise to rest later.
