It's been what, over a week since I last wrote? Well...let's see, I went and saw my girl, which was fucking fantastic. We went to open mic and saw the boys play, but she wouldn't sing. I'm still a little unhappy about that. But she's promised to call and hold the phone up if L sings that Paul Simon song tomorrow. Because she's cool like that. We made the horrendous mistake of going to see "Pippin" on Friday at CTL. My apologies to those reading this who like that play - musical, sorry - but it was just really really bad. We left during intermission. It was one of those shows where you have to dig fingernails into your hand, or your girlfriend's for that matter, to get through two...more...scenes. So we went to Blockbuster and rented two gay movies which I hadn't seen and watched one of them - Love! Valour! Compassion! Which was very sad but funny. Men in swan costumes. Yeah, I got a lot more out of it than that. I'm not that shallow.
So we had a good time, did other things like go to the amusement park where her friends work, at least until a torrential storm came through. I was really unhappy to leave. I won't get to see her again until August at the earliest.
Other stuff - one week until I go to Michigan and from there Ontario. Very excited. I have my plane ticket, hotel res, bus plans, concert ticket. I'm so set.
I switched riding trainers. Leigh kicks ass, she's amazing. She doesn't just tell me what I do wrong or right. She makes sure I understand WHAT and WHY I'm doing. She doesn't make me feel stupid, and that she just wants my money. Her horses are lovely, well-schooled, patient.
My job...er...volunteer position for the summer is working at a museum in the archives. I re-tag and bag lots and lots of artifacts, kind of an inventory thing and also so that when the pieces are moved, they're all in order. It's really bizarre when you need to watch yourself at work so that you don't touch the two-hundred year old little arrows whose points have poison on them. There's lots of weapons too, nasty looking things that I really am glad I didn't see the business end of...(sorry about grammar) The musical instruments are pretty cool as well, I'd like to learn more about them.
Well, it's 4th of July, which means I ate too much hot dogs and corn and blueberry pie. So I need to go lie down now.
