Hello, South Park!

We hope everyone is doing well out there, and here is the relevant information in this issue of the Gazette;


► The South Park County High School Theatre Club will be holding auditions for the rock opera RENT. All interested actors and actresses can report to the campus auditorium on December 2nd & 3rd to try out.
► With Thanksgiving weekend done and over, and December just beginning, South Park is getting into the swing of the Christmas season. Saturday [December 5th] will be the day of the South Park parade of lights & Christmas tree lighting ceremony in front of city hall. Parade route will filtered down main street, before ending in front of city hall, where Mayor McDaniels will light the first tree of the season. Free hot chocolate and candy canes will be provided, while quantities last, and all are welcome.
► South Park Recreation Center will be hosting a Christmas Craft Fair and Farmer's Market every Sunday from now until Christmas; 8am until 2pm. Homemade ornaments, decorations, clothing, refreshments, and much more for all. Santa will also be attending, as well as visiting the South Park mall every night from 5pm until close.
► Park County Choral Society will be performing their presentation of Sounds of Christmas on December 20th at South Park Catholic Church, before accompanying South Park elementary in their yearly pageant, which is later that evening.
► South Park residents are reminded that Operation Red Nose is in effect for another year of holiday merriment. Any individual feeling themselves unfit to drive during the coming season are encouraged to call our hotline [555-3014], and a ride will be distributed as soon as possible. We are always seeking more volunteers!
► Although outbreaks of H1N1 in Colorado have drastically plummeted, citizens are warned against relapse. Proper hand-washing, coughing into sleeves, etc, are encouraged. Scientists predict a mutated outbreak of the virus to hit society this coming spring, and all individuals are encouraged to receive their vaccines as soon as possible.
► December 14 will be the official Lighting of the Menorah at South Park city hall.
► All South Park public schools will be closing from December 23rd until January 3rd for the holiday break. Any further questions can be directed to educational faculty.

► Weather this week is very cold, and with quite a bit of snow. Lots of bitter coldness and the occasional clear sky during mid-week. We're going to see lows of -15°C [2°F], and highs of -1°C [27°F].
