APPLICATION||

This is the application for South Park Street. Simply fill out the information below, and leave it as a comment [or comments] in this entry. For the sake of organization, please make sure the title of your comment is the name of the person you are applying for.

All comments are screened, until the mods have read the application and approved/rejected it. COMMENTS ARE NO LONGER SCREENED AS OF 10-12-09. THE INABILITY TO REPLY TO ONE'S OWN COMMENTS IS CAUSING ORGANIZATION PROBLEMS FOR APPLICANTS. WE APOLOGIZE FOR THIS, AND HOPE THAT THIS CHANGE WILL RECTIFY THE ISSUE.

Please remember to read the rules before applying, and it would probably also be in your best interest to give the FAQ & Guidelines a glance over, too.

If you need it, you can find an explanation for each of the questions beneath the text box.

Three things to note when applying to South Park Street:

→ Quality over quantity! We love a good application, and it doesn't have to be a novel in order to be good. Some of the keys to a good application are detail, feel, and effort. We're quite friendly and easy-going, and we're not going to be elitist writers who grade you on every little piece of your application. Just provide us with a nice detailed grasp on your character and their background, and chances are that you're in.

→ Details, details, details. We can't stress that enough. We want to know as much about your character as we can, and it's your job to do that for us. You still aren't expected to write a book, but the better the details, the better the chance that you'll be accepted into the game. It's the little details of a character that help us get a feel for them. Yet keep in mind that first rule on quality; even if you write us a quantity of details, you could still get rejected if you have crappy quality.

→ Show us your dedication. Show us that you want to play in this game as much as we want to run it for you. Give us your best efforts, people!

Best of luck, potential players!

Remember, we will give you a response as soon as possible! Give us at least 2 to 3 days in order to make sure we get a look, and put in our decisions.

Player

Name: Just something we can call you by. It can be an alias, nickname, whatever.
Age: Self explanatory.
Gender: Self explanatory.

Email: You must provide an email, for our contacts list.
AIM/MSN/YIM: You do not need to volunteer a personal IM sns to this game, but you will need an AIM sn if you want to participate in chats with your fellow players.
Personal LJ: This is optional. We would prefer you to reveal it for our records, but we won't force you.

Roleplaying Experience: We're just curious as to where you have played previously. We'd like our players to have at least some experience in LJ gaming before this, but if you don't, that's okay too. Don't let it scare you off, everyone needs to have a first time.
How did you find out about SPS?: Just curiosity on our part.

Character

Name: Self explanatory.
Age: Self explanatory.
Gender: Self explanatory.
Grade: List numeral [9/10/11/12], as well as title [freshman/sophomore/junior/senior].
Play By: Who you are using to represent your character.

Sexuality: Just give us your best guess. It's okay to bend things around a little, as we play, but just try and give us an indication of the direction you plan to go in.
Birthday: Self explanatory. Feel free to make something up, if your character doesn't have a canon one.
Family: If your character has family in town, note them here. Just your immediate family [parents/siblings/etc] is cool.
Extra Curricular Activities: List any other clubs/sports/activities that your character is involved in at school.

Personality: Tell us what your character is like, in as much detail as you can manage. What are their quirks, what are their likes/dislikes? Strengths/weaknesses? What do they think of school, life, good and evil? How do they usually act around school? How do they act around their closest friends? Give us as much as you think we need. We need at least one/two paragraphs for this, although more in acceptable.
History: We recommend sticking to canon, if it's available for your character. Tell us about their past, their home life, their upbringing, etcetc. Let us know that you know about your character, and what they've been through. We need at least one/two paragraphs for this, although more in acceptable.
Appearance: Although we know what most characters look like, pretend that we know absolutely nothing about your character, and then begin telling us what he or she looks like. These kids have hit puberty! Things change! Hair color, eye color, piercings, distinguishing marks/features, clothing style [inside & outside of school], anything and everything you can think of. Just one paragraph is fine for this portion, although you can go beyond that if you please. Linking to a picture of your character will not be acceptable.

Roleplay

First Person Sample Journal Entry: This should be an example of what your character might post in their journal. Write as little or as much as you'd like, as long as it's IC.
Third Person Sample Post: This should be an example of what you would write for your character in a log or a thread. It can be just about any situation you want, just make something up. You can even use something from another game, or anything already written. Just show us your style of roleplay, and stay IC. Please give us at least two or three good paragraphs, but feel free to write even more, if you'd like to. Don't feel confined by any means.
