Welcome again to our new Mod (and an explanation)
First of all, I want to welcome fujimizue as a new mod for Southland_tv. As I’m sure you all know, she has been a very active participant on this site and adding her as a mod will only benefit us.
I don’t know if you are aware of what has been going on in the last day or so. Monday, we posted that fujimizue would be a new mod and that with Southlandtvfans website closing, we were going to partner with the facebook account in order to help promote them as well as our site. fujimizuewas very active on that FB and was to continue to maintain it after the website closed.
As the first and original fan site of Southland, we have always been proud to support the show and its actors. To us it seemed logical to officially associate ourselves with the person who was now going to maintain this FB account since she is so active here. It wasn’t to make it a part of this site but to cross promote their posts via our twitter.
Bob, the owner of Southlandtvfans did not take kindly to this new association. According to Bob, several years ago he asked that his site partner with Southland_tv but we would not agree. Why, I do not know, none of the mods here recall this happening. If this is true, I can only assume that we would have had to change the way we do things to conform to Southlandtvfans’ policies. But as mentioned, we have no recollection of being asked to partner with them.
Regardless, this was taken personally by the owner of the site and therefore we became its enemy, something we were not aware of. Now, several years later, because we agreed to help promote the FB account, Bob has decided to close it regardless of fujimizue’s hard work, saying that we only associated ourselves with the FB after he left, that he can’t transfer ownership of a FB account, and that his corporation would then be liable for anything we may post.
In the past, we have received messages demanding that we explain our association with Southlandtvfans. I’ve never been sure why we were asked this. But I guess this proves there was never an association except for a few hours on October 8, 2012.
When it comes down to it, this is a fansite for a tv show we love. We are not trying to cure anything. We are just going to post about Southland.
