Shawn Hatosy in the new TV Guide
In the new issue of TV Guide (dated Feb 20 - March 4), Southland's February 21st episode is highlighted with a short article "What Makes Sammy Run?" Shaw Hatosy was interviewed for the piece and talks about Sammy. "Sammy's becoming a better cop. He's gone back on patrol to help younger, new guys, and his partnership with Ben creates a compelling dynamic. There's camaraderie and they have fun together."
But TV Guide notes that on Tuesday's episode, "the honeymoon appears to be over. That partner relationship comes crashing down aftera a mistake during a car search causes one to question the other's integrity. The duo catch a felon who has violated patrole - and it just happens to be a perp who Sammy has a prior beef with."
"It appears that Sammy is building a false case to make the guy serve more time, and it becomes a question within the relationship. Something happens when trust is broken and there are such high stakes," says Hatosy. "Now it's about Ben's choices. It will be interesting to watch!"
