An alarm clock sounds in the otherwise peaceful night. A man, a beast of a man at that, growls at the clock as he rises from his warm bed and much warmer yet slumbering woman. One touch at the alarm clock is off, then he begins to hurriedly get dressed. Moments later he's out the door with list and flyers in hand. A single stop at the local QT ("Mornin' Will." "Mornin' Jim. I don't usually see you on my shift." "Well, Will, today's Black Friday and I'm going to go get a new TV." "Alright, Jim, you have fun with that."), and the man has his coffee. Then it's down to Best Buy, and what he figures would be a short line, as it's 0345 and they don't open until 0500. The line, however was not so. It began at the front doors and stretched all the way down to the corner of the Sports Authority. By the time our hero makes it to the line, it had wrapped halfway around the Sports Authority. As the line shuffled forward and tickets were passed out and time passed, the line still grew. By the time the man was back to the corner of the Sports Authority, the line was all the way down the side of that building, across the parking lot and over to TGI Friday's front door.
There were only three items on our hero's list. A 32" LCD HDTV made by Westinghouse for $479.99, a Norelco cordless Razor for $25.99, and a Motorola Bluetooth Headset for $14.99. He entered the doors at 0520 and the headsets were already sold out. The razor was gotten and the TV for whence he came would be purchased shortly, as he was in line with precious ticket in hand.
"I stood in line longer inside than I did outside jus' t' get this damn TV...", he grumbled as his cellphone rang. Cheerily the voice on the other end exclaimed, "Hi BeeBee! I'm done and already in the parking lot! I got Rockstar Parking(TM)!!! You'll see me outside!" "OK baby. I'll be out soon. I'm almost to the coun.. Gotta go, baby. I'm checking out. I love you." "I love you too, honey!", and then, a mere 20 minutes later, at 0630, our brave couple were the proud owners of a new LCD Flatpanel TV, to be picked up around back.
