"Tiny" houses

I am amused:

"Four couples who had been best friends for 20 years ... all were fans of the tiny house movement, and decided to build their own little compound based around that idea."

They've built four houses, each 400 square feet, plus a "1,500 square foot community building with a kitchen, dining area, and space for guests and activities" to share between them.

Our last apartment was 450 square feet, and seemed quite a normal size to me. This one's two bedrooms instead of one, and still only 550 square feet. (They only have the one bed in each house, it looks like, since they don't need space for guests or entertaining...)

I'm really hard pressed to see how this counts as a tiny house. Clearly I've gone native.
