Well, as usual things did not go as they were supposed to, and I get stuck with a really long shift. I got up at 0415 (4:15am for you non-military time readers) for PT (Physical Torture) After about an hour I needed to shower, iron my newly washed uniform, shave, and get ready to leave on a trip. I made it with plenty of time to spare, but two of the others weren't ready for about a half an hour after we were supposed to leave. Needless to say that if it was me, my ass would have been in the slammer for that, but they weren't even talked to. So we leave, arrive, and I need to move people around. I do what I need to, with no help and much added unnecessary stress, and return without having eaten all day.
My CSM (Command Sergeant Major, meaning she's the boss of everyone who isn't an officer) and I return to camp without eating, we are hungary, tired, and we both need to work for a few more hours for our day to "count." (Everyone needs to work 12 hours per day, or else!) So I come back in at about 1445 (2:45p.m.), after having about 3 cigarettes, and prepare to work. My boss has some training to do which I had completed the previous day so he goes there and says he's going to take a break after his training. He proceeds to tell me how hard it is to sit in an office and have someone bring him lunch. I have gone without...and I haven't bitched until now. So I give in, he leaves, and I've been here ever since. It's now 1955 (7:55p.m.) and I still have another hour of work before I get off for the day. That will make 16 hours of work, 1 hour for dinner, and a total of 17 total hours for the day. I drove halfway across Kuwait, and I still need to get up for 0530 formation, and work straight through to 2100 (9:00p.m.) tomorrow. Nice huh?
Anyway, I don't mean to bitch, but we all know how good I am at it! :) I love you all, and I hope your days went better than mine!
