...This time also with a lot of ranting about P.E.
After visiting the temple we were so very hungry. Luckily, we stopped at a restaurant and had... Korean stuff. ^^x*
Hmmm... Kalbi. And probably the yummiest Kimchi I've ever had!! I wanted to keep on eating, but I was so full!! >>x*
And there was salad and fruit and veggies and... *falls into a trance, drooling*
And then the horror:
"We're going to play against the Jpanese students in an hour..."
Me:" Wha...? How long does it take to digest?!"
Chris: "Longer than an hour...?"
"Great they stuff us and then make us play... -_-x*"
Green, green, green.....
After another hour of listening to random songs on Kida, we finally arrived at Kyugoku Middle School.
This cute girl made me squee inside. I ADORE the school uniform. *wants* Best ribbon EVAR!!
This was the greeting hall.
Our ceremony was a lot better, with school choir (with me in it =P) and orchestra... but here atlest we got straight to the point after all of the speeches to play 피구!! (Known in Germany as "Voelkerball" ... "Dodgeball" in English??)
Well... We did sing a few songs. They made the Koreans sing a Japanese song ("Yuki no Hana" I think it was called), but nobody seemed to have practised, and even I could sing more than a few others... (The years of training trying to sing along to J-rock/Anime songs pay off XD).
Then the Japanese students sang the Korean version. But they had sheets with them, they were cheeting!! XD
In the end, we sang "Edelweiss" "Sound of Music" together, where I had the feeling everybody was trying not to be louder than me, just in case they sing something wrong...
Now came to time to get changed... off to the toilet... TOILETPAPER!! XD And they were so clean!! into shorts and T-shirt.
I know how to play Voelkerball. Our school has competions where classes play Voelkerball against each other. Teachers like Frau Arens and Frau Friederich make sure that we throw the ball properly and try to catch the ball if we can.
So do Japanese teachers.
Korean teachers don't.
There were also problems before the game even started: Me. (Different folks, different strokes)
"Start the game, Susan."
"Start? Me? What do you mean? This is a team game, isn't it?"
"Start the game!"
Everybody insisted that I start, because no Korean girl wants to embarrass herself in front of other people and besides... Susan is a much better player then we are, so let's let her start and win the game for us....
"I'm sorry people, I don't know what you mean... How?"
Raquel tried to help: "Just watch Susan, and you'll understand."
"BUT THEY WANT ME TO START!!!"
I was getting really frustrated. WHY doesn't somebody else do it, so I can see what they mean and then start the naxt game. Urgh.
FINALLY someone else started the game.
They start it like basketball.
Thank you, that was all I wanted to know. Would it have been so hard to say that to me?
And thus the game began and this is what the field looked like:
Notice something about the Korean's "out" field?
THEY'RE ALL STANDING IN A ROW!! *bangs her head against the wall*
And even Mr Burns throws the ball harder than they do!! (OK, there were 2 girls that played really well on our team, but)
We lost. Miserably.
I was trying to have a good time, but I gave up when I got a Japanese ( = properly thrown ball) right smack in the face.
Ow.
Thoughts: Look on the bright side, Susan, atleast your getting exercise and YOUR IN JAPAN!! embarrassing yourself.
The games finally over, I made sure I got a picture taken of us. Colle's orders.
Then it was back to the hall, where we each got a bottle of something to drink. I got something called "Bubbleman" in grape flavour.
And then we were already leaving?! AHH! *panic*
This is the best picture taken in a hurry. Ack.
Well... now we were tired... I was tired. The other exchange students didn't play and not wanting to get hit by a ball like that again, I was jumping all over the field. (especially since they knew that as soon as I was out, they had the game as good as won...) Chris was babbling somthing about "70 lemons", as that was the name of his drink.
When I opened my drink:
"Oh no... I hate fizzy drinks..."
"With a name like "Bubbleman, what were you expecting?"
"Gah."
What flavour it REALLY was. ㅋㅋㅋㅋ
And beacuse I like comparing Nr plates:
(XYZ were numbers)
They're just like Korean Nr plates, only Korean ones are green. And have Hangul on them ^_^x
As for today:
We played baseball today... Attempted to play baseball, that is.
1. Please run after you finally hit the ball.
2. Don't just stand there, get active.
3. run.
4. You have to run to the next base, too.
5. Teacher님, don't just stand in the corner shouting at the children. I mean, instead of telling them how stupid they are, how about SHOWING AND EXPLAINING to them how it's done properly?
6. I said run, not walk. PLZ.
Somebody please get these children to play more sports.
Less school until 11pm and more hobbies!!! That's what these children need!!!
ARGH!!!
