there's no TIME for peeing! THIS IS DISNEY WORLD!

So I'm bored, sittin' at the head tutor desk in the LC... so I thought I'd grace my LJ with a Disney World update.

In a nutshell, the trip reminded me why I stopped going on family vacations all of those years ago.  My family can take each other in small doses, but on vacation, we can never get along.  We annoy each other to no end.  To paint the picture for you, my parents were sporting their fanny-packs and visiting more bathrooms than actual rides, while I was ordering a drink every chance I got to make the experience more tolerable.

And when I say experience, I don't mean vacation.  It wasn't a vacation.  In fact, it was more stressful than real life.  We had 3 days to do 4 parks, and granted we've done them about 7 times before, but we still were running short on time to see everything we wanted to see.  We were walking as fast as we could everywhere, planning intricate fast pass schedules, and pulling 12-14 hour days.  I need a vacation from that vacation.

On a more positive note, the timeshare messed up on our rooms and gave us the suite in one of their new buildings... there was a jacuzzi in our bedroom, a shower that could fit 7 people and a full kitchen with a dishwasher.  You know you're in high class when they give you a dishwasher.  It was incredible.

I did get to go on the figment ride, Journey into the Imagination, which made me happy, but also sad because they changed the ride completely... Also, Pirates of the Caribbean was closed, and my heart broke.  Apparently, they're putting Jack Sparrow and Captain Barbosa into the ride, and ruining it.  So sad.  Oh Disney, why do you have to ruin my attempts to relive my childhood.

I think that Disney World is a much more impressive place for 10 year olds than college educated 21 year olds.  I got many glares from disturbed parade-watching parents when I pointed out that Jasmine and Aladin were in fact caucasion, when they were supposed to be Arab.  Also, when a staff member asked me if I'd like to donate a dollar to the Disney Wildlife Conservation Fund, my parents were more than upset with me when I responded "No, but I'll donate a dollar if you'll stop exploiting workers in third world countries!"  I'm too radical to enjoy Disney anymore, I fear.  So no one got souvenirs, but everyone will eventually thank me for boycotting Disney's evil, capitalistic business practices, I'm sure of it.

Going from 88 to 30 degree weather wasn't fun yesterday and neither was having to step off the plane to go to class.  I'm still exhausted from it.  But I'm here working 8 hours in the LC anyway. Oh life.  Why are you always so hectic. *sigh*  I only missed 2 days of classes, but it feels like a life time.  I'm behind again, and super stressed.  It's only a matter of time before the eye starts twitching again.
