The Veil of Illusion

Jan 12, 2007 00:26

I must pierce the long silence to report on a superb film. Run, do not walk, to your local video or click with great brio to add "The Illusionist" to your rental queue. This is one of the very best films I have seen in a very long time. The acting, the writing, the directing, all superb. Special note must go to Ngila Dickson (of Lord of the Rings fame) for superior costumes and to Philip Glass for a haunting, surprising score. I'm still digesting what I've seen, but I urge, beg and implore you all to race and see this marvelous, delicate miniature of a film. It lingers hauntingly like a fond memory that's just slipped out of sharp detail.
