Swing it, damn your eyes!

Well, this is a tasty oddity of fate. I've actually managed to finish my chores, my reading and my leisure viewing and have proper writing time. That is altogether delightful to me, and more than slightly unfortunate for you, because it means that I can blather, burble and banter until fatigue delivers the K.O. punch.

But first, since I have a mild obsession with U.K. politics (Best. Soap. Opera. EVER.), I want to offer a short aubade:

Gordon and Tony

A pair of smiles emerged from number 10,
One battered and grey, one untried and dour.
The member from Sedgefield, bright as a pin,
And the Chancellor, sincere but sour.
The P.M. lied one time too many,
The chancellor offered one smile too few,
Although the pound shines bright as a penny,
Labour finds itself in the stew.
Sweet Tony smiles and hopes that a lie
Will win him history's reprieve -
The Chancellor forces a smile, and by
Hook or by crook, Labour shall not leave!
But in the background Cameron lurks still,
That slim cyclist, the great Tory shill.
