un dimanche oisif (enfin presque)

Last night Josh and I made crêpes. I put apple sauce on one, and that turned out to be excellent. I highly recommend it. We wanted to buy crème de marron (chestnut cream) but we ended up getting purée by mistake, which we found is not the same. So that didn't go as well as planned.

I woke up at 8 this morning, fell asleep again, and woke up at 11. It's the third night in a row that I've had a dream involving missing a plane. I have no idea what that means. Maybe it's related to working on my dissertation and wondering if I will be able to finish it within a year? Maybe it means nothing at all. Anyway, I sometimes have these dreams about traveling, and it always involves emergency: running to avoid missing a train or a plan, going up and down stairs, negotiating with airport / train station employees to gather information that will make me catch my flight. That sort of things. Another type of dreams I sometimes have is taking exams and getting in the wrong room or at the right time, and especially getting lost in a school. Yes, I worry a lot in real life.

We also cleaned the bunnies' cage and cats' litter box, which led us to clean the rest of the apartment. After doing some dissertation work (I mostly made pictures of spectrograms in Praat, which is a great way to fill my blank pages), I even cleaned the fridge. I wondered "and we put food in there? Ick!".

Josh made fish and rice and ratatouille for dinner. That was wonderful. Then we sat on the couch and watch Quantum Leap. There's only one episode of season 3 to watch now, and the best one, but also the hardest one to watch (not just because Dean Stockwell sings the Alphabet Rap Song).

Pour conclure: I haven't even been outside today, but I still had some fun at home.

Here are two pictures of old French cars found in Neudorf (my Strasbourg neighborhood), for those who enjoy European vehicles. Good night.
