Lets make the 00's memorable
I've been doing a lot of thinking today...more than usual. Summer is almost over, we start school on the 11th. I havent been home at 11:30 at night in a really long time, so I guess that means that I've been pretty occupied this summer...at night that is. I don't want to go back to school.
We watched Dazed and Confused the other night and it was really cool to see how kids in highschool acted back then. Grant it, its only a movie...but they just really knew how to live back then. Everything was about living for the moment and not letting your adolecent years go to waste. No one was particularly interesting in movie stars or politics or even rumors...they just wanted to live for what they believed in and didnt care what anyone else thought. We should enjoy living.
Cynthia: God, don't you ever feel like everything we do and everything we've been taught is just to service the future?
Tony: Yeah I know, like it's all preparation.
Cynthia: Right. But what are we preparing ourselves for?
Mike: Death.
Tony: Life of the party.
Mike: It's true.
Cynthia: You know, but that's valid because if we are all gonna die anyway shouldn't we be enjoying ourselves now? You know, I'd like to quit thinking of the present, like right now, as some minor insignificant preamble to something else.
