red ships and blue ships

Apparently when you have a full-time job and a uni course and a house that needs work done, you might get a bit busy? Or something? Who knew. But on the other hand...

Scott and Bailey is just so goooood! And this week, DONNA FROM QUEER AS FOLK! Who I love, and who still looks basically like she did fifteen (?!! oh god it really was fifteen) years ago. DONNA!! She was always one of the very best things about that show. I just looked her up and it seems Carla Henry mostly does theatre, but she's SO GOOD, such a cracking actor and so engaging and I'm just delighted to get to see her doing something again! A really good part, too.

The other main thing I took from today's episode was that I'm less worried about Gill than I was. I mean, I'm still WORRIED, because clearly it's not good to be Gill right now, but she's clearly still amazing at her job, she's put off retirement, and Rachel and Janet are talking about the problem. I was more worried by the idea that nobody would notice just how bad it was until Gill, like, did something epically terrible, and I'm now seeing a potential different path. I just hope it goes that way!

Oh, and Suranne Jones in pyjamas is apparently my kryptonite. OMG. She is just stunning. And while I'm sad for her about the breakup, she was BRILLIANT at policing in this episode and I think maaaybe actually being single for a bit IS what she needs. She's trying so hard to be a grownup, to do everything right, but it sounds like she's kind of always had a fella in one way or another, and a bit of time to regroup might not be a bad plan. Hmm.

Next week's ep looks traumatic though, eep.

THe other news is, I saw an
entropical and between us we watched the entirety of Nobuta wo Produce. I was going to be annoyed at her evil pimping ways, but it is NOMINATED FOR YULETIDE, so I will forgive her. :D
