nothing but love, eight days a week
Okay, so I saw the preview and heard the gossip and was kind of pathetically expecting to hate it, because all I heard was "Tim and Tony have a big fight". And, okay, I like angst as much as the next fangirl, but I was worried they would hurt my OTP!
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH.
What I actually got, and I am so happy I am not making this up, is a whole episode about how they've had a tiff and Tony finds a potential new boyfriend and Tim is sad but then the boyfriend disses Tim and Tony is all OH NO NOT MY BABY and tells him to stuff it before getting back together with Tim amid smiles and love and candy based snark! ASKDASLK;ADSKL;SADLK;DSALK;AD;LKDSA;LKSAD I CANNOT EVEN WHAT WHAT WHAT AHAHAHAHA WHAT AHWTATGKAJKLASKLASD.
I am still very seriously not over this and I have now watched it twice. I. JUST.
Tim STOOD TONY UP and that is why Tony flirts with McCadden! Like, I am not even exaggerating that - THAT IS WHAT THE EPISODE LITERALLY SAYS HAPPENS. And then Tim is sad when Tony calls him "Tim" because it means McCadden is "McC"! (Oh Tony, you will need to do so much making that up.) And Tim is jealous enough about this to say Tony and McCadden need a cutesy couple name "like TomKat, Bennifer, Brangelina", and calls them "TCad" and then Tony snips back that Tim is "McBitter"! And then Tim is sad that Tony didn't buy him Nutterbutters like he usually does, and it is genuinely kind of sad!
But oh oh oh then Tony starts finding McCadden not quite as bright as Tim, and then he disses Tim, all "you could do better". And Tony, looking ever so slightly like he just realises himself how true it is, replies with - AND I REPEAT I AM NOT MAKING THIS UP IN ANY WAY WHATSOEVER - "There is no better". And then he goe back to his team and gives Tim a Nutterbutter to apologise, and makes a big deal about turning McCadden down for this and all future dates. (I AM NOT EVEN THE ONE CALLING IT A DATE. I SWEAR. THAT IS WHAT THE SHOW CALLS IT.) And then Tim and Tony have a little snark but are all beamy and happy at each other because they are back together!
And that is without even the whole scene where Abby LITERALLY is all "Tony's bromance won't last, Timmy, it's ok" and he's all "eh whatever don't want to talk about it it's nothing" and she's all "OH SHIT IT'S AN ACTUAL RELATIONSHIP FIGHT I'M SORRY TIMMY, HAVE A HUG, HE WILL COME BACK TO YOU." (That? Is barely paraphrased!) Also, Ziva saying Tim and Tony are having a "7 year bitch" and TONY AGREEING and then Gibbs saying they're not married because they are still speaking to each other!
This is gayer than most of the fanfic, people! If either of them was a woman, it would be called way ott about how in love they are. No subtext, no subtlety, just, this is a romance storyline.
I also love Timmy's face after Tony is hideously awful at dealing with Charlotte, because "That's him improvising" is accompanied by the MOST brilliant "... and that is the guy I love, OH DEAR GOD THIS IS MY LIFE AHAHAH OH DEAR" expression. ♥ so MUCH!
I also love Tim muttering "Leaving Las Vegas", because there is no interpretation of it that isn't LOVE. Like, maybe he knows that's what Tony thinks, and is proving he knows that? Maybe he is saying that because that's his choice, and he is proving he DOES TOO have movie geek knowledge SO THERE. Or maybe he just wants to be involved in that conversation because he misses sharing movie geek bonding. Just: LOVE.

Oh and I also love Abby wearing awesome shoes and having "all of the above" problems (could show have done better re. issues about prostitution? yeah, probably, but for prime time it was actually pretty good and the dude was actually shown to be an abusive bastard) and Ziva WORKING OUT THAT TONY HAD A MAN-MANCE. And using the phrase "man-mance". I loved it. I JUST, PEOPLE, I JUST.
