Aaand some telly, cause I am still me:
Supernatural this week... it was nice to see the Winchesters again (Winchesters! Aw!) and it was really scary. Definitely one of the scariest episodes for a while. I would've liked it to be more of a proper haunted house episode, though - that's where I thought it was going, and in a haunted house ep there would also have been more time for the brotherly interactions that are my favourite part of the show. As it was, it did better than most (despite the 'zomg oppressed woman iz a killerrrr' thing) - I liked that there was a brother as well, I liked that Dean identified with them and said so, I liked that the non-murderous girl of the week and her mum actually had a relationship. I am a bit miffed at Sam for needing to be told that Dean enjoyed torturing people in Hell though (of course he did, it was HELL, and also wasn't the time for that revelation last week?) and I think that mostly, what I'm hoping we get from SPN now is something a bit different... I know it's an inherently formulaic show, but a bit more shake-up than we've had, please. Isn't that what you introduced the freaking angels for?
Also: HOW did Sam fit in that back seat? I don't fit lengthwise on a back seat, and I am more than a foot shorter than the Ginormotron. How on EARTH?
Psych I had nothing but love for, because LASSITER WAS COOL. He totally was. He had the cool music and everything! And Gus was jealous (and awesome) and Jules was sweet (and awesome) and Shawn got hit in the head (... with awesome?). And Henry - I was saying to mayatawi earlier that Henry and Shawn are totally one of my favourite family relationships on TV, because they are just so BELIEVABLE and understated and awesome and yay. Oh PSYCH. I loved last week too - the dolphin! and Shawn and Gus being SO VERY MUCH heterosexual life partners! who might or might not also be having sexytimes! and just, PSYCH. It is a happy place.
Otherwise... hmm. alpheratz linked me to this statistical anlysis which made me laugh a lot, and I have been rediscovering my slight crush on Dr Ben Goldacre. How can you not enjoy someone who refers to anti-science craziness as "full-on fruitcake action"? I defy it to be done.
