Today, I have discovered, is
More Joy Day, and this pleases me! So as part of my contribution to same, I am going to post some Persuaders stuff. Even though it is now past midnight, here. Cause I loves you, or something. Anyway, here are some pictures from the episode Take Seven, which makes me laugh and laugh.
(I couldn't be bothered to upload aaaaall of them to LJ this time, but some of my favourites are
here. The .zip of all the caps I took of this episode is
here.)
I think I love this episode mostly for its sheer crack value. The plot is only about as silly as most of them, but both the main characters are very dorky this episode. As evidence, I present:
It looks like I drew on it with photoshop or something, but I REALLY DIDN'T. He just... wanted to wear a fake 'tache and shave people. Like you do. Heeee.
It's a fun Danny episode all round, really. It turns out he's learned how to hold a teacup from Brett (although not, aparently, how to tell the difference between tea and coffe...), he's smart and silly but useful in a crisis.
Even though it turns out Brett was awake for at least some of the carrying (and Brett, honey, "I was tired!", really? hee) it's very clear that they both expect and rely on each other to be able to do the necessary things to stop badguys. Brett wanted Actually Not Jenny to call Danny and get him to the house, they both go off and do their little investigation-y things and report back to each other with developments. It's quite the little detective agency they've got going: Danny goes round his friends and business associates, Brett apparently knows random dudes who live on park benches. It all works out nicely balanced, and I think it's adorable.
Also adorable: Danny anouncing he and Brett are engaged (HEE!), and parading around after His Lordship making fun of him.
He does the bowing-away thing TWICE in this episode, too, which is always pleasing. And yet not as a pleasing as Brett just RANDOMLY doing a sketch of Danny. Not even with Danny in the ROOM, either - just, I dunno, because he felt like attempting an artistic rendering of his best friend's face. Even though he doesn't appear to have any other real artistic urges at all. Could apply to anyone, I'm sure. :D
Oh, and the face-touching might be a bonus. *g*
OMG, I can't believe I nearly forgot my FAVOURITE thing about this episode: MANDY!
I suspect we were supposed to take the Danny-fancies-Mandy-and-steals-her-from-Brett's-employ sub-plot at face value, but really: that first bit, which is presumably meant to be a "who's the hot girl?" moment, ends up sounding exaaactly like "who is this hot girl in your house WHO I HAVE NEVER MET? what's she doing here? why was she in your BEDROOM?" Danny doesn't sound jealous exactly, but very much like somebody who feels potential concern, rather than somebody who's just lusting after their friend's housekeeper. (Even the bow-chicka-wow-wow music can't help that, apparently.) And the reveal at the end that Danny never had anything to worry about cause she's married to some enormous heavyweight boxer makes me laugh every time. Bless them. And it naturally ends up with them sat on a couch, together.
Also, it was a very pretty episode in a lot of ways (if a bit dark for effective screencapping, a lot of the time), but I think maybe the most aesthetically pleasing bit was this dude's facial hair.
I mean, seriously. *g*
Wheee.
