Today I watched the episode of Due South which features the exchange "I love you, Fraser." "And I you, Ray." :D Just the fact this exists makes me happy. Eeee!
Oh my god how much do I love this episode. Just, the best kind of crack. It's all classic Ray - him having his theory and arguing it and making awesome 'you're a dumbass' faces and the shoulder holster of yay and doing the flashback which means Ray in a big dramatic emotional scene (that boy so has huge epic dramas and poems in his head) and being so very invested in Fraser. Like, he noticed everybody was staring at Fraser! his argument about what "hmm" might mean and how to translate Canadian! He just always wants to know, when it comes to Fraser, and that makes me happy too. Plus, his panic for Fraser at the end, after which he's all "I will beat you to death with this empty gun!" and walks next to Fraser. Awww.
And then... the glasses. Bwahah. I love them. They're adorable and just, yeah. And then you can add the beauty of the "Have you considered contacts?"/"Too much hassle. Have you considered a GUN?"/"Too many legalities." exchange. Eee. Everybody rolling their eyes at Fraser's "I first came to Chicago" speech! I also love the flashbacks to the different interpretations of the event, especially the hilariously over the top one to Fraser SexyRunning!!!!1 after the bag snatcher, and bless you, Frannie, you rule, even if the top is kind of embarassing and you might want to consider throwing yourself at Fraser a little less hard. And, and, and... the hypnosis. Fraser HYPNOTISES PEOPLE. And then he gives Ray a suggestion that makes him appologise on the word "cauliflower"! (Callum doing hypnotised Ray = gleeeee!) And even better, he hypnotises his boss into letting spend more time with Ray! That's even better than the fact that as of this episode, Ray being abducted by aliens at the age of ten is canon.
The next episode was good too. I love Ray going "the turtle and the wolf are natural enemies, Fraser - grrr!", and Fraser's brown uniform (not to mention Fraser being all ninja while in his brown uniform), and Fraser accidentally being in Swan Lake with Russian spies... which, now I think about it, is a sentence you could only ever write about Fraser. Heh. There should be more ballet with Mounties in. Ray's face when he sees Fraser's uber-fast typing and when Fraser waves an envelope in his face all "no peeking!" at the Sekrit Canadian Files, too! I also totally love Ray examining his hair and Fraser going "it's full-bodied and bushy, Ray", bwahahah. Er, really I might as well give up and say I love the whole lot of them, I suppose. :D
Other reasons to love Ray recently include him being a huge goof, with the silly bright blue sunglasses and being vastly amused by playing around with his gun and shoulder holster (just sitting around with this bigass grin on his face! so. adorable.) and him going "nobody's gladder to get back to work than me, sir" with the best expressions ever. This is only beaten by him getting handcuffed to the wall by kids. Heh. Oh, and him being all nice to Fraser at the end, just because he knows Fraser's had a bit of a hard time. Awwww. Well, the girl Fraser liked not only saw him in his oh dear GOD WHAT THE HELL Mountie pyjamas but then turned out to be married, and Fraser hadn't even got a snog out of it because his dead dad decided to interrupt things, which I think counts as a sucky day to anybody. Plus, Fraser always gets love because he is the kind of person who will take off his hat when in somebody else's house, even if he's there because he kicked the door in. :D
Finally, I have a theory about why Due South rocks. It's because it's the kind of show where, when they're going to have a bounty hunter, they go "wait. a bounty hunter seems improbable and a bit stupid. no, what we need to do to make this awesome, is to have loads of bounty hunters!" :D That is genius, people.
The advert that's playing right now has an awesome cover version of Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This), sung by a guy, and I don't know who it is to steal off the internet buy a copy. Anybody?
