Such a good point about Rodney calling himself McKay. I think - I would actually have been surprised if he would have called himself Rodney.
Okay, this is ridiculous - I really would have to quote your whole post if I wanted to list everything I agree with and say something to it. But:

Yes. Yes, yes, yes, I think so too. And you're also so right about John - it really ties neatly back to what he said in "Aurora" - he and John have this habit of saving each other's lives, and if someone comes to rescue him, it's John. Oh Rodney.
They’re just so important to each other, and they rely on each other so much, and then they have parallel episodes about how they love their team and miss them and want to save them but don’t quite have the faith that the team feels the same way about them, and gaaaaah, it’s gorgeous.
*nods* I'm really happy with the last couple of episodes. I mean, really really happy. And the Rodney love is totally not ridiculous, I am right there with you.
