Day 07 - Least favorite episode of your favorite t.v show
Hurmmmmm...This is stereotypical of me, but "Love and Monsters". I mean it's a Doctor-lite ep so that's bad in and of itself but then the main guy is kinda annoying, the monster is gross (and not in a good way), and the main guy (I really don't remember his name, and can't be bothered to look it up) has a "love life" with a block of a cement?! Well a block of cement with Moaning Myrtle's face...just WTF, ugh.
Runner up: "42" waaaaayyyy to similar to my favorite two-parter (see previous entry) and not in a good way.

First Lost. Jesus this has taken me awhile to write about...But I had to let it sink in. It's been in my life for 6 years. That's a hell of a long time for a TV show. And it's over. For reals. Ok, aside from the immense emotional loss for this show, the finale was good. Great even. No, we didn't get all the answers, but when have we ever gotten answers from this show? It's about the characters, and it always has been. I admit I went in to the finale expecting everything to be solved and answered in one great big, neat package, but as it went on and afterwards I realized that's not really what I wanted or needed. What I needed was to know that there was a reason for these people to connect and that there was something important to their experience. I needed to know it would end up alright for these characters we've spent the past six years caring about and speculating over. It's not about why there's a polar bear, or how did Ben move the island or any of that. I admit, I'm a little disappointed that we didn't find out what happened to Walt, but it'll be on the DVD apparently so I'll just wait for that. And to be honest knowing now that that ending in the church was what has been planned since the beginning makes the finale all the more satisfying. I know my Tuesday nights won't be the same, but I've got my DVDs and I plan on rewatching the wholes series again as soon as I get the chance.
Ok, now the fandom I've been sorely neglecting, and I feel really bad about this, but Doctor Who. I dunno what it is, but this whole season has been a little meh for me. Maybe it's just too much change at once or something, but I haven't been able to really get into it. I don't really like Amy for one thing. She was ok before she got all randomly skanky on the Doctor. That was weird and I lost quite a lot of respect for her after that one. Not to mention, can this chick please wear something that at least partially covers her legs?! I don't care about the occasional short skirt or whatever, yeah fine so you dressed for Rio, but she hasn't worn anything less than like 8 inches above her knee once this season. Yes, Moffatt, we get it, you hired her cuz she's hot, but seriously, can she dress like a normal person now? Thanks.
And Eleven. He's fine. I really don't have a problem with him, he's slowly, very slowly growing on me as the Doctor. He's by no means my Doctor and I don't think he ever will be, but he's good enough. Just hasn't really been good enough to pull me back into the fandom whole-heartedly again.
Which brings me to Rory and last night's ep. I kind of loved Rory, he was growing on me very, very quickly. He was smart and goofy and awesome, AND THEN THEY FUCKING KILLED HIM LAST NIGHT. What the hell. That was messed up, but on the other hand, it finally gave me some form of emotional attachment to this season. (I need to state right now that I sort of hate myself for reading about his death before the show so I spent the whole thing waiting for him to die since I didn't know how, just that it happened). Then he gets yanked out of all existence?! ALDKJAFOIEAHGALKDFAEWMVLAFDKGJA!!!!!!!! I don't even...Moffatt, you're a bastard. Though now I'm hearing people think Rory will be back...There is that ring sitting on the console still...That would be a horrible thing to do, just bring him on back into existence magically, though it wouldn't really surprise me. As long as they don't kill him again, bringing a character back just to kill them again is just cruel. And annoying. I suppose I'll have to wait until next week...blah...
But OH! the shrapnel hunk of TARDIS?! Brilliant. Now you've got me caring. We now know something big and crazy is going to happen to the TARDIS that causes or is the result of that crack of doom? Let's be honest, the TARDIS is really my favorite part of this season, let's hope the Doctor can fix this and the TARDIS doesn't get killed/destroyed/blown up, k? So, DW, you've got my attention back, thank you, finally. But can we leave the rainbow Mighty Morphin Daleks out of this?
Sooooo thanks to eveybean I found out that Costco had the complete Granada series of Sherlock Holmes for $99.99! And I convinced dad that we needed it haha. Oh it's so pretty, the packaging in itself is frakking gorgeous. I'm soooo excited to make gifs and screencaps and watch the special features! Yes SPECIAL FEATURES! It's lovely. In the meantime, be mesmerized by the eyebrows! THE EYEBROWS.
