unrelatedly, i've found the secret of life hiding within a $2 package of "new orleans style red beans & rice" that is ready-to-serve after popping in the microwave for only 60 seconds. it tastes so freaking good. if i serve you a bowl of beans and rice and claim that it is homemade, don't believe me. (although you'll want to.) the company that makes it is called Zatarain's. BUY IT.
