on moving and being a nerd

I'm a little rusty when it comes to blogging now.

Today's the day of reckoning. Well, half a day of reckoning. Got almost everything packed, save for a couple of things, like the cats, for example. Ash was helping by tearing out the plastic bags that held our trash and going through them. Very nice of him [sic]. I'm a bit sad, but not surprised. I realized, even long before we moved in together, that my roommate and I are turning into two very distinct people. I mentioned to Cheeze last night how, as you get older, your circle of friends are becoming smaller and smaller. I made this conscious decision to maintain relationships to those who sincerely care how I'm doing (like asking me how I'm doing, for starters). And then there are those who do not keep contact and call only when they need/want something from me. I can only count of a couple of people in the former group and quite a lot in the latter. I'm just happy that I've got a big family and sisters to call when in need. My sisters rock!

Cheeze and I spent this whole week packing. Still a lot of little stuff left to pack but at least all the important stuff are done.

A couple of weeks ago, I got an inkling deep down that I'm somehow turning into some kind of nerd. Of course, I ignored it. But that inkling manifested itself into an excel spreadsheet with my Christmas list and budget. Yes, I created my Christmas list, budget and even the stores I'm planning to visit. There's still Halloween and Thanksgiving to go through but I'm super excited to go shopping this year for presents. Guess I'm no longer a grinch...
