It's been a while...
Wow. So much has happened since my last LJ post. I've never been one for updating much as it stands, and that will probably continue. I will however let you all know that I am alive and well. I left Fort McMurray on the 25th of August and got settled in at Patrick and Tanya's place relatively quickly. For the week and a bit prior to orientation, I went out maybe twice and one of those times was to grab groceries with Pat. I stayed in my room most of the time clinging to my computer playing World of Warcraft; mainly due to the fact that Ryan and everyone were playing it and it was a sufficient way to stay in touch.
Orientation rolls around. I meet some new people in my orientation group and get in contact with most of the people I know from Fort Mac that are attending the U of A. I wasn't sure what to expect of my Drama 150 Class, but I am eternally grateful that I am in that class. We are such a tight group and everyone is great. I bought a ticket for a concert on campus featuring some bands I like, unfortunately for me, I had also made a commitment to be a Stage Carp on the Running crew for the first Studio Theatre production "The Maids" by Jean Genet. To my good luck, Neil Hodgson and I had met up prior to the concert and he needed a spare ticket for his brother. He paid me almost face value for the ticket, which I was not expecting (but was grateful for :D).
The 'First time I went out' was to one of my Drama Classmate's get togethers. Had a grand time. I was getting really overworked and overtired from working the play because I'd be at the University for 14+ hours a day, within that, my studying habits waining. I am happy that it's over, but am glad that I gain some experience right off the bat, being that my program doesn't start until 2nd year.
I bought a cellphone finally and my number is 1-780-690-5864.
I am heading home on the 5th-8th to celebrate my birthday and thanksgiving with friends and family. Birthday on the 10th and I also have a couple major assignments due right around the corner, so I need to get working on those.
Hopefully I'll update again soon.
