hello, people of sounis! i am back with more questions, this time from aCoK, and here they are:

1.  why does gen smash his wine cup after the meeting with sophos?

2. why does everyone think that relius is of no use anymore? he wasnt even injured that bad, i mean, he only had the bones of one hand broken, and they healed. why is he so damaged that he cant resume his position as secretary of archives?

3. after sophos knocks gen off his feet, gen tells him to go on alone because it's beneficial to sow a little ambiguity. and also that it's hopeless to think that they could play the same trick on melheret twice. that makes it sound like his entire cool act was for melheret's benefit, but that cant be true. so what does he mean by that?

4. would someone explain the conversation between gen and helen on the rooftop after sophos leaves:
eddis: "Will he forgive us?"
gen: "You aren't stealing his country".
e: "Neither am I helping him keep it"
then gen tells eddis, "You sent me to Attolia." - what's that got to do with anything here?
and what does he mean when he tells her "Sounis will not change"?

5. the last conversation between sophos and eddis. eddis says she and gen hadn't offered him the choice of retaking his throne without attolia's help. how did they not offer him the choice and why? and how could he have won without attolia's help?

6. at the end, sophos says "There had to be reinforcements at Oneia, so they were there". doesnt he sound a bit naive? did he really go there believing that? how did he know attolia would know exactly where to send help? and as gen say, he wouldnt have known where to send the men if irene hadnt told him. how could sophos have planned the entire thing based on a flimsy belief that attolis would send help exactly where he needed it?

helen, sophos, relius, conspiracy of kings, gen
