Largely for Matt's interest:
The minister at my church is known for being, shall we say, left-leaning. Hell, the whole church is extremely liberal; they perform gay marriages and invite leaders of nearly every other organized religion to give guest sermons. But it's finally gotten the good doctor in some hot water with the higher-ups in the Methodist church: He gave a sermon recently in which he said that Christianity was not the "one way, the path", whatever it is the Christian dogma says; that he knew Buddhists, Hindus, Muslims, etc. who were closer to salvation than many Christians. Sure, he left himself some wiggle-room by saying that it was Christ, not Christianity, that was the path to salvation, and that other religions have elements of Christ even if they don't label them as such. But still, he's getting some "oh no you di'int". I hope they don't relieve him of his pastoral duties.
Heh, that church makes me almost half-willing to take up the mantle of Christianity from time to time. Crazy bastards.
