The library is fascinating, but I grow bored with this solitude. Surely somebody can indulge me in a bit of conversation and company.

not plotting evil (for once), flood: prime of your life

Out and about, are we? How're you liking the barge?

To be honest, I had hoped that we would be stopping somewhere. As it is, the library has been able to keep me occupied for a short while.

((OoC: Aww! XD *pets Koschei, and subdued!Master*))

Yeah,, well that's the funny thing about cruises. There seems to be an awful lot of boating.

[OOC: He'll probably be double nuts when the flood stops XD ANNNND tags will be super slow tonight 'cause I've got company!]

But we're passing other worlds as we speak. Why not drop in and see what's going on?

((OoC: The Doctor will point and laugh and then suddenly and without warning become EMO ABOUT THE GOOD TIMES. And no rush! :3 Have fun~))

As much as I agree with that sentiment, the Admiral, as far as I know, has a certain destination in mind. I'm afraid he's in charge -- mostly because no one can seem to find him.

[OOC: Awww! As though the Doctor doesn't have enough to emo about these days. XD]

That won't do at all. Has anybody searched hard enough?

Well, as I understood it, someone who was particularly interested found his progress in tracking him down impeded.

Hmm... Then I'll have to occupy myself here, I suppose. What does one do for fun when trapped on a boat?

Any number of things! Read, talk, cause havoc.

Granted, it's usually the more unsavory types doing that last bit, but it seems to be working well for them. Not suggesting it, of course.

Hm. I'll have to content myself with talking for now. How long have you and Romana been here?

Reply

justunlikely July 25 2008, 01:58:54 UTC
Well, I've been here for only a month or so, maybe less. Romana was here first. We haven't had a proper shore leave since I've arrived.

Are you sure there will be a shore leave at all? What if it's just a... carrot they're dangling over your head-- pardon my Earth colloquialism. I'd been reading so many books from that planet today.

Reasonably sure, yeah! It's part of the draw of joining up with this place, you see. I've heard tell a previous trip -- whether that was just a mass hallucination, though, remains to be seen.

Good metaphor, by the way.

What was it?

Thanks. I do find the planet very interesting, although not quite as much as a friend of mine-- sometimes, I think he'd rather have been born there than Gallifrey.

Venice, I think. Around the 21st century, I think.

. . . Yeah? Well, to be fair, Earth is a fascinating place. A bit backward at times, it seems, and occasionally you wonder how it is that any of them survive for as long as they do, but humans -- oh, they're brilliant.

I've not come across many, myself-- until coming here, of course. Not terribly impressed with some, though. They really are quite remarkably similar to us! Brilliant, though? I haven't been around them long enough to see that, although their literature is quite impressive.
