sickness all around me
well remember i how i said jesse was sick? well on tuesday when jessley woke up from her nap, short as it was, around 12:30pm she was sick. i could feel the heat coming off her. this is the very first time she has EVER been sick. so ten months is pretty fucking good i think! go me for trying to keep her away from germs lol. anyways, her temp was 102.3 so i called the pediatrician and they said to monitor it for 24 hrs and if no better, call back or go on to the hospital. i held her all day. no really, seven hours straight. her temp went up even more so at 9:30 and she woke herself up coughing which lead into a vomiting spell so i took her to the er. the temp they got was 103.9! they did urine analysis and some blood work but said she was only slightly dehydrated and they were only waiting on her heart rate to go down some from the 184 bpm that it was. we were only there for about two hours, which is great for that particular hospital i'm told, and once the heart rate hit 140 they said we could go. only thing they could give her was tylenol when we first arrived and then right before we left, motrin.
so on wednesday she still had a fever but it was more around 100º so i was only slightly less worried. finally i broke fever by keeping a cool washcloth on the back of her neck all day. she didnt like it, but it helped. so today she has no fever but still, you can tell she feels like crap. so i'm still giving her motrin every six hours. i couldnt get her to eat anything tuesday and after all the throwing up i was so worried about her getting dehydrated. yesterday she drank a little formula and i had to force some pedialyte in her mouth but at dinner time (which is usually around six pm for her) she ate a few bites of chicken and veggies but ate a whole jar of fruit! so that made me happy :) thank god she has had a good appetite today too. bottles, cereal for breakfast and then a big lunch. still, not feeling good and shes taking a nap right now. earlier today was the first time since tuesday she took a nap while NOT laying on me.
so much stress. in four days, i've lost 8 lbs. doesnt seem like much i'm sure, but it weirded me out. i had no idea it was taking a toll on me. i had only been concerned about them.
then yesterday jesse had enough. he called his mom and she took him to the er. he was diagnosed with bronchitis. got some antibiotics, cough syrup and 800 mg of ibuprofen. not to cheap either at $70 but fuck it. thats what he works for right? at least thats what i convinced him lol. i dont care at all. just want them both well dammit. so he was out of work all week until today he went back. gonna be a lousy paycheck tomorrow for sure :P
THANK GOD I DIDNT GET SICK! and i have no idea how i didnt either. i guess it helped that i havent slept in bed with him since he got like this but still. i have slept with jessley the whole time. i'm guessing my immune system is stronger than i thought.
omg and Lara, get this! i'm on my third day without pot. can you believe it? i've decided that if i continue smoking, it will only be a weekend thing. but it sure is hard. really hard. especially times like now when she's napping. so that another reason i'm updating. so i dont get the itchies for a smoke.
know what i really need to be doing? taking a fucking shower. i havent been able to get an actual shower since she has been sick. granted i've washed off and washed my hair over the tub but it doesnt feel the same. i feel so grody. ugh. i disgust myself and wish no one had to see me.
well i think i'm going to take a small break for myself. drink a lil water and munch on some applesauce before she wakes up. i did a quick clean up around the house, well the rooms i can get to wituout waking her, so now its relax time! wheeee :P
