( challenge on infinite earths, pairing; nick/louis.)

a/n - i chose to do a coffeshop/bookshop au for this. there was a million things i could have actually done for it and im upset i can only fit one in this day. perhaps affter this is done i will actually do more and stuff. i might write this or if anyone wants to actually write it for me i will die happy

nick is a somewhat hipster, eccentric book shop  slash more often than not coffee shop owner and louis is a full time uni student who finds peace in the meandering hallways of nick’s shop.

“good afternoon louis!” a voice calls out to louis as he enters the shop, bell ringing loudly and his arms full of books, louis looks up to see nick standing upon a rickety-looking ladder and apparently sorting the top few shelves into cover colours.

“good afternoon nick,”louis says, placing his books down and goes over to hold the ladder steady, “isn’t it going to be hard for people to find the book they want if it’s colour coordinated?” he asks, and nick’s eyes widen.

“i suspect you might be right,” nick thinks it over, but then shrugs, “never the less i got you a key.” he adds although louis can’t see where a key comes into it. “to the shop, you see. also, one of those plastic ones to the coffee machine so you don’t have to pay all the time.”
“a key,” louis says faintly, and turns his attention to where his fingers are curled around the unsteady legs of the ladder, “he got me a key. i think i’ve just be proposed to hipster style.".
