RIGHT NOW WE ARE GOING!
Our uchiwas are too high concept.
(I started this last Sunday night... then we left for Kyoto and had no internet for three days, and I couldn't get to the draft that LJ had helpfully stored for me :( Then we got busy...)
HEY GUYS JUST BACK FROM TWO MORE KAT-TUN SHOWS NO BIG DEAL. I feel like these posts are probably deeply obnoxious but at the same time the WORLD MUST KNOW....
- NO RUSHING THIS TIME. We got up at 5:15am to catch a 7am shinkansen from Tokyo and then followed all the uchiwas to the bus stop. I feel like following uchiwas can get you anywhere good. We finished our uchiwas on the shinkansen. At first I was like, THIS IS SO EMBARRASSING but samenashi just looked at me like I was a total retard because no-one even looked twice.
- When we were waiting in line for the bus these two women like, eventually worked up the nerve to talk to us. We eventually deciphered that they were asking who our favourites were (THEIR VOICES WERE SO QUIET) when one of them reached into sam's bag and pulled our her Ueda uchiwa. I was like, "AHH KAMENASHI-KUN" and they were like "US TOO" (a kame fan and a ueda fan). Then I took out my phone to check the time and they saw our ridiculous Koki phone hanger and seemed really confused.
- While we were waiting for the first show to begin, suddenly we looked beside us and this JE management guy is next to us with a translator. He proceeded to ask us about a billion very detailed questions. At first we were worried there was some problem with our tickets and we were going to get kicked out, but then it became clear that we were the subject of some INTENSELY DETAILED MARKET RESEARCH. HE ASKED US INTRUSIVE QUESTIONS ABOUT HOW MUCH OUR TRIP COST... HOW MUCH THAT IS IN YEN...HOW OLD WE ARE... HOW MANY PEOPLE IN AUSTRALIA LIKE JOHNNYS... IF WE WERE SEEING JIN... WHEN WE WERE LIKE, 'WE WISH', HE WAS LIKE, I HAVE TWO TICKETS.... MOTHERFUCKING LOS ANGELES. WE HAVE NO IDEA IF WE WERE SUPPOSED TO PAY FOR THOSE TICKETS OR NOT BUT I CAN TELL YOU IF I HADN'T REJECTED THE IDEA BEFORE WE COULD THINK ABOUT IT WE WOULD BOTH HAVE PROBABLY QUIT OUR JOBS. It's amazing how quickly we went from 'Jin's a douchebag now' to literally saying, 'PLEASE BRING JIN TO AUSTRALIA. WE'D GO ANYWHERE.' in a really hysterical voice. It was really weird. I'd heard about JE interrogating foreign fans before but like... the number of personal, irrelevant questions was kind of hilarious. Also they talked to us for a really long time and only stopped because the show started. Then throughout the show we kept looking behind us and seeing the manager guy standing there watching us... Whatever, he can be as creepy as he wants as long as he lines Jin up a gig in Sydney. Also them asking us about Jin at a KAT-TUN con was vaguely reassuring because they otherwise act as if he never existed.
- OUR TICKETS FOR THE FIRST SHOW WERE AWESOME. We were in the second row of the stands on the corner, right in front of the walkway. This was about 40% awesome, 60% SORT OF EMBARRASSING AND AWKWARD. LIKE WHENEVER KOKI CAME PAST ME I WAS LIKE, PLEASE DON'T LOOK AT ME WITH YOUR SKEEZY 'SEXY' FACE... At one point he looked at Sam and she started laughing and then looked at me and then when she looked back at him he had seen her laughing and looked kind of embarrassed...
- I MADE EYE CONTACT WITH KAME WHICH MAY HAVE BEEN THE SINGLE MOST .......................... MOMENT OF MY LIFE... I WAS CLOSE AT ISE BUT THERE WAS NO REAL CONTACT, SO IN MY HEAD I HAD HANDLED THE SITUATION WITH DIGNITY AND APLOMB.... BUT NO.... I HAD LIKE A SPLIT SECOND OF EYE CONTACT THAT WAS PROBABLY JUST HIM SQUINTING INTO THE SPOTLIGHTS AND IT MADE MY KNEES GO WEAK WITH LIKE. ADRENALINE.... I WAS LIKE, OMG THE GOD KAMENASHI IS REAL.... (Part of me now is still like, no, he is just an illusion....) To all the people that keep asking if I touched him, I could never defile him like that..............................
- SAM CONFUSED THE SHIT OUT OF KAME WITH THIS UCHIWA:
AT FIRST WE WERE LIKE, "HE SAW IT.... BUT HE LOOKS KIND OF ANGRY..." THEN WE REALISED HE JUST LOOKED REALLY CONFUSED AND SORT OF PANICKED ABOUT IT, LIKE, "OH NO.... THE FANS ARE WAITING.... THEY'RE RELYING ON ME...." HE LOOKED REALLY STRESSED OUT A:LSKFDSGHDGK:LKADF:SLGKDHFH TRYING TO FORGET ABOUT IT AND JUST SING.... we feel really worried that he might have thought she was insulting him... His face looked like his face in any game where they make him draw something or think of a word quickly.
- UEDA TOTALLY BLANKED US OVER AND OVER. HE WOULD AVOID LOOKING AT OUR SECTION TO THE POINT THAT THE CHANCE OF IT BEING A COINCIDENCE IS MARGINAL... He did this to me and darlita at Mouse Peace, too... we think he noticed us once and then was like, DEAR GOD WHY... and started resolutely avoiding looking at our section.
- NAKAMARU TOTALLY SAW US AND WAVED A LITTLE WHICH MAY BE ONE OF THE GREATEST MOMENTS OF MY LIFE... HE IS SO GREAT GUYS. WE ARE SO INTENSE ABOUT HIM NOW. EVEN MORE THAN BEFORE... WE BOTH BOUGHT NAKAMARU UCHIWAS AND I WANT LIKE 20 MORE HANDMADE ONES. HE WAS GOOFING OUT IN OUR CORNER FOR AGES. WALKING LIKE A DUMBASS. I LOVE YOU NAKAMARU.
- At the start of the 1st con we were sitting next to these two REALLY WEIRD GIRLS. AT FIRST WE WERE SERIOUSLY TERRIFIED THEY WERE YARAKASHI BECAUSE THEY HAD SUCH ANGRY, MEAN FACES. CAN YOU EVEN IMAGINE WHAT SAM AND I WOULD DO IF SOME BITCH STARTED SCREAMING "DIE KAME" WHILE SITTING NEXT TO US... I DO NOT WANT TO GO TO PRISON IN JAPAN. When they first walked in the JE people were talking to us and sitting in their seats and the girls just started at them with so much hostility until they moved. Then they just sat down through the first like, four songs, then just started talking loudly and looking crazy and angry. Then the Kansai Jrs came out and we realised they were just FUCKING CRAZY Kansai Jr fans and would only turn into human beings in their presence. We kind of hated them and would probably hate them fully and completely if we understood a single word they said. They talked through the whole MC, I was like, STFU I CAN'T HEAR KAME'S LONG BORING STORY IN A LANGUAGE I DON'T UNDERSTAND. Sam and I think they might have been freaking KT/the jrs out too because they always seemed really tense in our corner and didn't linger. Especially Kame. lol.
- SPEAKING OF KANSAI JRS, WE ARE FUCKING OBSESSED WITH KIRIYAMA AKITO NOW BECAUSE HE SUDDENLY STOPPED IN FRONT OF US WITH A SHOCKED, HAPPY FACE AND STARTED LAUGHING AND WAVING DIRECTLY AT US LIKE, "OMFG FOREIGNERS THIS IS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" he is the Anti-Ueda. Our sudden obsession with him is twice as hilarious because we went to dinner with snowqueenofhoth the other day and I asked her about the Kansai Jrs because I only know the one from Gokusen 3 with "the face and the hair" which is what we have been calling him ever since. Junta was also super adorable, he danced in front of us a lot ~super fabulously~. So we now know two Kansai Jrs names and the faces of a handful more. One of them is "mini Ryo". Experts.
- During the first MC one of the Kansai Jrs did a Kame monomane, making fun of his slinky dancing. Kame was like, LOLOLOL but then the camera caught his face a minute later and he looked like Voldemort. We suspect he was probably stressing out about it all day. "DOES MY DANCING REALLY LOOK LIKE THAT...." meanwhile the rest of KAT-TUN were dying. In the afternoon MC they talked about his reaction to it and a kid (same kid? I don't know.......) did monomane of that. THEN SOMEONE DID A HILARIOUS IMPRESSION OF UEDA AND UEDA LOOKED REALLY SHOCKED / PLEASED. We think he said that no-one had ever done monomane of him before.
- Our afternoon seats weren't as close as the morning show, we were smack bang in the middle of the stands, but they turned out to be awesome in their own way because we were surrounded by noisy fans (in a good way). The whole crowd in the afternoon show was really genki and noisy, easily the most responsive crowd we've had. It was nice not to feel noisier than everyone else. They sang like every word of the songs except for the long English bits - Sam was easily the loudest person during the "BURNING UP YOUR BODY BITCH" rap. The atmosphere was really good.
- In the afternoon MC they talked for ages about their first Valentines. The fact that we understood this was the topic is pretty good by our standards, but I can't tell you much else about it. Oh, I got a bit of Kame's because he acted it out. His classmate when he was young gave him chocolate and was like, "Kazu-kun~" which he said in a girly, adorable voice while crouching on the floor. That is the most I understood of the story. My reports are so patchy. He was also talking about flipping girls skirts again, I think.
- Junno's kouhai were there, we think? Something something something Taguchi something kouhai, then they talked about mixi. I have since read that they said the girl should find Junno on mixi and Kame was like, WHAT'S MIXI????? He sounded so intense. Kame was super genki all day.
- In the afternoon MC they were going along the line and declaring their love for Sendai / Miyagi but they started getting retarded halfway through I think. Ueda's was really cute and everyone was like, <33333, then Kame said something super cheesy in his Kame way and the audience screamed and he started like, blushing and getting embarrassed, loling. Then Junno said something that I think they deemed lacklustre. Then Kame went again and got embarrassed AGAIN, HE IS SO RETARDED. IT'S LIKE HE CAN'T HOLD HIMSELF BACK BUT THEN HALFWAY THROUGH IS LIKE D:.
- Kame got too caught up with his adoring audience during Peacefuldays and was late back to the stage for BMND. He apologised asldkjaflkj. He scrambled onto the stage just in time for the opening lines.
- At the first show Nakamaru's mic fucked up during One on One and he was like ................EH????? I love his face.
- We realised for the first time today that the blob in the centre of the screen during Answer is a foetus. Creepy/hilarious??
- Again, they only sang like a quarter of Lips because they were getting too carried away with the mics.
- In the closing speeches at the afternoon show Kame and Ueda looked really emotional. Ueda's face was all tight and Kame spoke really earnestly. I think he said something about really feeling the audience's power.
- They did a second encore at the evening show even though it was going to make Kame late for Going, lol. They sang Going again. I know a lot of people aren't into Going but it is SO KAT-TUN LIVE. IT MAKES SO MUCH SENSE SUDDENLY. If you told me Nakamaru wrote it I'd just be like, ahhhh of course. It's like key of life meets six senses meets like. pika pika. I ALWAYS LIKED IT BUT I LIKE IT EVEN MORE NOW. The evening audience especially went NUTS for it and chanted every word. SO FUN LIVE.

Since then, we have: been to Kyoto, been to Nara, been to Osaka, been to Third Eye Blind, gone to the 1LoT aquarium with happiestwhen, arrived in Hiroshima, gone to KAT-TUN for the final time (sobs violently while slitting wrists), and stood in a pharmacy staring blankly at cough medicines trying to cure the tuberculosis I am slowly dying from (bronchitis probably).

There were more but I had to take some off... I have a matching Kame heart but we put that on our rental mobile. I feel bereft without him but whenever I pull out my iphone in public I feel like I have to hide the hangers with my hand so people won't a) think I'm crazy and b) think Jin is my ichiban (sorry Jin fans... people are really intense about having an ichiban here, what if Kame hears and thinks he isn't mine?????).
