Room 505, Late Friday Night

Feb 15, 2008 22:56

It had been a good night so far. Kabuto escorted Ino back to the dorms from the dance, stopping outside his own door.

"Well, Ino...may I ask for one last dance?" He asked, pushing the door open for them.

(for the something-like-but-not-quite-a-girlfriend! XD)

(ETA: sp for the win!)

She looked up at him, eyes bright as she slipped into his room ahead of him. Ino held out her hand to him. "Name your tune," she said.

"Do we require a tune?" Kabuto asked, taking her hand and shutting the door behind them.

"Not really," Ino admitted, "though it does tend to make dancing easier."

"It's not that difficult...follow the pattern, just move..." Kabuto pulled her close, into an easy waltz, taking his ANBU mask off and tossing it onto his desk.

She matched his steps with her own, smiling up at him. "I never said it was hard," Ino pointed out, "easier wasn't meaning in the technical sense."

"Well, are you having any difficulties?" Kabuto smiled at her, moving in time to the nonexistent music. "You seem to be doing just fine."

Somehow that made her blush more than any of Liir's far more extravagant compliments from earlier. "I have a good partner," Ino told him.

"I'm glad you think so." Kabuto's smile became warmer, somehow, and he leaned down to steal a kiss from her.

She kissed him back and, with hardly any conscious thought, moved closer to him. They weren't really dancing now--or at the very least, they weren't dancing the waltz any longer.

Waltzes, in Ino's experience, didn't normally involve kisses.

They were really more swaying than dancing. Swaying and kissing. Kabuto didn't mind swaying and kissing, though it was much better to be doing it in the privacy of a dorm room rather than at the dance itself.

With the hint of mischief in his eyes, Kabuto moved his hand just enough to pull on the end of the bow around Ino's waist.

She made a mildly indignant sound at the tug on her bow, one hand sneaking down to grab his hand. "And what," she murmured, "do you think you're doing?"

"It was there," Kabuto murmured back, grinning in spite of himself.

"It's not a toy," she said in the firmest voice she could muster--which wasn't very firm. Ino was in too good a mood to really care. "The bow never did anything to you."

"Fine...then the bow can stay..." Kabuto obediently took his hands away from it, resting them lightly on Ino's waist, instead.

Ino tilted her head at him, amused. "I'm not a toy either," she said, though her hands went to cover his so he wouldn't move away.

"Who's playing?" Kabuto asked sincerely, leaving his hands where they were.
