[RL with Maraihi]

Kabuto leaned against a rock outcropping, catching his breath. Though he would never admit it to Maraihi, he had pushed himself hard to get to the abandoned hideout in time. He only hoped he had concealed his movements, and motives, well enough to fool Lord Orochimaru from following him ( Read more... )

When Maraich was dropped off he wasn't sure what to expect or what to look for. The world seemed like it had a different brand of technology than his, and some parts of what he was told didn't sound very safe.

Moreover he didn't even know the name of the man he was supposed to be meeting. He was angry at himself for overlooking such an important detail.
He took a look around the area for anyone he recognized.

"Over here." Kabuto materialized from behind a bolder, waving. "If you'll just follow me..." He pointed, still scanning the scenery, hoping the red haired man had not gathered to much attention to himself.

Maraich, though quite skilled at sneaking around, wasn't well-aware that he was supposed to be discreet. He joined the other man behind the boulder, thinking to ask the one main question that was bothering him right now, "What's your name?"

Kabuto held a door open, bowing slightly and waiting for Maraich to enter.

At the other mans question he started, then chuckled quietly. "Its Kabuto, at the moment. Yakushi Kabuto." He paused, then said in a more serious voice "I hope I can be of assistance."

Maraich slipped inside and took a look around. It's not that he'd never heard of a ninja before, but on his world they were mostly a thing of yesteryear. It was strange to see a world that seemed to have a lot of them - or at least that's what it sounded like. How did they even disguise themselves when they were all over the place...?

He was quieter than normal because he was in an unfamiliar place, "I hope you can help, too."

Kabuto glanced at Maraich, maybe guessing his doubts but remaining silent. Instead he flicked lights on as they traveled down the corridor, looking for one of the labs.

"I should be able to help, once we get to one of our laboratories. But until then, do you trust me enough to tell me a little about your situation?"

He followed along. Walking down the corridors felt a little eiree.

"Well, to put it in the simplest terms..." he brushed back his bangs, "I think I'm pregnant."

Kabuto stopped in front of a set of double doors, breaking the seal with a careful burst of chakra. The room beyond was musty and had a thin layer of dust on the floor, but was filled with computers and medical equipment.

"Really." He paused, digesting this information, but remaining unsurprised. "If I remember correctly, this has happened before?"

The room wasn't doing any good for his current gag reflex. Nausea started building up making him feel an urge to sit down and curl up. He held his hand over his mouth to try and hold it back.

"Once, but my son wasn't born through the pregnancy. So I'm still not sure what to expect..." he tried to keep his hands to himself so that he didn't get dirty.

Kabuto flicked the lights on and set about bringing the computers back to life. He pulled a chair out for Maraich and dusted it off, then pulled a simple examination bed out from behind a clutch of machinery. He spoke as he efficiently cleaned the room, opening drawers and cabinets to find various medical supplies.

"Hmm. Why do you think you are pregnant, then? Are you merely nauseous and dizzy, or have you been gaining weight as well? Has your body undergone any significant changes, or have you transferred bodies recently?"

Maraich took a seat in the chair, making himself as small as possible with his hands firmly held together on his lap and his legs pressed together, feet flat on the ground. The fact that everything looked so dirty didn't make him feel very secure. If he had been there for any sort of operation he probably would have left, afraid of getting an infection.

"I thought it was just the stomach flu, but the blood test results showed I was pregnant. Let's see, I think... I've had back-aches, and felt tired, then I started feeling nauseous, and," he paused momentarily and quieted, "I needed to use the facilities more frequently. I gained some weight, but not a lot. Maybe a pound or two."

"There" The room was reorganized so there was little floor space, and looked far more chaotic than a normal hospital room ever would be aloud to become. Every drawer stood open and several instruments had been set on table tops. He stood back and whistled a few bars of music while concentrating on a set of hand seals. A light flashed, filling the room with white light and a humming sound. Then it was gone, leaving the room spotlessly clean.

"Interesting. Would you mind sitting here for a bit?" He indicated the now clean bed. "Have you noticed any changes in you -um- anatomy?"

Maraich flinched at the flashing light, looking nervously around. Even if it looked clean he was still suspicious of it, but he got out of his seat to sit down on the bed.

His voice was more than just a little concerned, "Changes..? What kind of changes?"

Kabuto sighed. "You say you are pregnant. From your nervousness, I have to assume that such things are as uncommon among men on your world as they are on mine. As such, one would assume that you normally do not have the necessary organs to create a child." He pushed his glasses up and continued. "Logically speaking, you would be unable to carry a child unless you had gained at least a uterus. Do you think that is likely?"

He pulled a pair of surgical gloves on, one of which was attached by thin wires to a screen similar to that of a computer.

"Well, no, it's not really common... I don't know of any other man who has ever gotten pregnant," he admitted, a little embarrassed, and was fairly awkward as he continued, "Umm... I would I check for a uterus? I don't really know if anything has changed, but the outside looks about the same..."

He watched everything Kabuto did closely, eying the equipment.

Kabuto sighed again. "You needn't be embarrassed. Despite how I look, I am a trained doctor. Trust me, nothing you will say can surprise me."

He fiddled with the machine a bit more, then hit a switch to turn the monitor on. The glove was connected by thin filaments to the screen, and he began to explain his actions to his nervous companion.

"If you have found no visible changes we might as well head onto the Ultrasound. We actually have something similar in our world, though I had to search through quite a bit of medical text before realizing it. If you would lie back..." He rolled the monitor so Maraich would be able to see it lying down.

"I am going to run my hands over your abdomen. The gloves will pick up the images I feel, and translate them into a formant that you can see on the screen. The most you should feel is a cool sensation...and the image would likely be clearer if you would raise your shirt."
