I work at Best Buy now. It's a pretty sweet job. I sell computers, which is the job with the most customer interaction in the store. I just have to get used to actually selling things to people. It's not really in my nature to be competitive when it comes to sales. But I'm working on it, and I think once I get to know the product, I'll be pretty good at it. I'm being paid $8.50 an hour and I normally work 20ish hours a week, so yeah, I'll take that. I need the money, plus this jobs seems like one I'll be able to keep for awhile.
Anyways, I started really getting to know some of my coworkers today. One of my new friends, Mike, really opened up to me today. He's 23 and used to go to UT for electrical engineering. But then one year he had a big halloween party at his house, got really drunk, fell down some stairs and hit his head, and really hurt himself. Like, he was in a coma for a week. When he woke up, he had to learn how to rewalk and everything. He dropped out of school and had to do months of physical therapy. He still has trouble with short term memory. He transfered to Cleveland State University and is doing accounting now because it's less memorization. I can't even imagine that. Having to restart over everything. Learning how to walk again. Looking at him now, you'd never ever think something like that happened to him. And I'm torn between having a lot of respect for him for persevering through such a hard situation, and not feeling bad for him because really, he was the one that got himself that drunk, so it is kind of his fault. Idk.
yeah. some of the other guys that work in my department
zach: I think he's the youngest. just graduated high school. I think he might be gay, but I can't tell.
jonathan: Nice guy, don't know too much about him yet.
jon: very nice, one of the guys that is training me. can't tell if he's flirting with me or just nice all the time
ed: the other new trainee. he's cool, but he doesn't have good work ethic in my opinion. He says whatever is on his mind, even stuff that can be offensive. idk about him. he also seems kind of dumb.
ron: uber cute, but quitting in a week and moving to North Carolina
chris: definitely flirts with me all the time. is funny, but never a guy I would date. I think him and I will hang out eventually though because he has a motorcycle and i want to check it out.
