Christmas

The Christmas festivities ended yesterday.  Christmas Eve to Christmas was at my parents, Christmas evening at our house, Friday at my in-laws, and Saturday in Rhode Island with my extended family.  It's always nice to see family, and overall Christmas was great.  Unfortunately, it's always a little stressful trying to do everything and on top of that the baby was sick with strep throat/scarlet fever.  Today I was planning to go into work to prepare my office for re-carpeting, but I needed to recover from the exhaustion of the week and try and make a dent in the influx of stuff that has taken over my living room.

My big present this year came from my parents.  I actually have a digital SLR camera!  I've been longingly watching the SLR sales, but was definitely not expecting to get it anytime soon.  I was even planning to buy it next year if I got a good bonus from work, so I'm thrilled to have it this year.  I've been playing with it a lot since I got it, and am starting up a gallery for pictures.  It takes great pictures.  I think my husband's big gift was the one I gave him (if I do say so myself).  He seemed to love it, but he's also having fun setting up the mp3 player my parents got him and updating his computer with the video card his parents got him.  In terms of giving, I think the best gift we gave was a photo calendar to my grandmother.  Everyone asked for their own and she was so happy when she went through it.

Now, back to rooting for the Jets, or, more accurately, against the Dolphins, so that the Pats can get into the playoffs.  Hope everyone had a merry Christmas!
