Had the reaali matriculation exam today. A remnant from old times now removed, it had ten subjects to choose from. And it was damn better that way, too. The exam's changing into one where we have to choose two subjects from which we'll have an exam. ... meaning we're required to specialize more and more. Not to mention everyone has to know what they want to do. Only the best will survive. Is the goal to have people that know more and more from less and less things, the ultimate specialists who lack general knowledge? It sometimes seems like that.
...meh, the exam apparently went straight to hell. I guess that makes me worthless in the society's eyes, then. (Just to mention, I absolutely hate the result-centeredness. If you're not an expert at something, you're worthless. If you're not a workaholic, you're worthless. If you don't want to study for 20 years and then work 40 years and start enjoying life as an old person, you're worthless. Go die somewhere.
Meh. Better hope lazy bastards like myself have some hope, too.
