Wow. Sly has some powerful genes. What gorgeous faces those doegs have. I bet they would make really good pets in a family with children. So solemn, but so obviously sweet.
I agree with you about Sly's genes, both litters have been the most beautiful non-purebred puppies I've ever seen. And they mostly seem to have his eyes and eyebrows so that they look serious and a bit worried and sad, even if they're happy. The exception to that are the white ones, but even they still have the haunting eyes.
We became convinced - all separately till we finally talked about it - that Sly is something special. We ended up deciding that, weird as it sounds, he seems to be a mystical, magical dog. Caring for him has been one of the most wonder-filled adventures of my life.
They do, and they all have very serious faces, which cracks me up. I was talking to Dr. Caldwell about that Sunday...my theory is that it's the eyebrows making them look so worried and sad and serious. :)
I'm dead serious when I say those are the most beautiful, soulful puppies I've ever seen. Bambi just kills me. And I got all goosebumpy reading about the ways people are helping out. It's like everyone recognizes how special Sly and his story and his family (canine and human) are. ::hugs you tight::
I agree totally about how beautiful they are...just like their daddy (because they sure don't get the beauty from their mama!). And I love how people are helping, too, because they've got shots and spaying/neutering to come soon, not to mention feeding the little pigs. :)
I worked some on the Family story while I was in Atlanta. If I ever get it done, you wanna edit it for me? :) *hugs*
I was just kidding around mostly because I know you're busy and actually get paid to do what you do. :) But IF we catch the Family so that there's a happy ending, I'm going to be much more inclined to finish writing because I truly feel that this is a story that more people should know about.
Of course, that's probably going to be months after the capture when things finally settle down and they're feeling at home. Jari said that the way she socialized the puppies was to sit out with them and read to them, so I guess I could always take my laptop out to the pen and read their own story to them. *smiles dreamily*
