I really have no idea ...

Someone left a comment on my book blog the other day that seriously left me scratching my head. The comment itself was left on my Book Blogger Hop post. The Book Blogger Hop is a blog hop to encourage people to visit other blogs that they might not have seen before. I'm totally down with that. I mean, I participate in it so I can meet new people, etc. But, before I follow a blog I make an effort to see if they read the same type of books that I read. I mean, why do I want to follow a blog that only reviews non-fiction books on obscure European monarchs when I have no interest in either non-fiction books or obscure European monarchs?

Does that sound like I'm being too picky?

So, someone left this comment:
Hello, I am you newest GFC friend. My answer to this weeks Book Blogger Hop question.
...
I prefer reading and reviewing Christian Fiction but I do read a varity of other books. I just can’t handle too scary or gory. Suspense and Mysteries I like. No explicit adult books either if I do find one I really want to read I just skip over the x-rated stuff.

I appreciate that she's trying to stretch her wings and everything but I seriously wonder if she even bothered to take a look at my blog. For one thing, I actively try to avoid any books about religion- Christian or otherwise. For the next, I love scary, gory, bloody books. In fact, the more decapitations the better. Third and final thing: I READ EROTICA OF ALL TYPES. I've probably read more dirty books this year than some people read in their entire lifetime. I will often scour Amazon for the dirtiest books I can find.

I've said all these things on my blog. More than once. In fact, on the post that comment was left on I talk about both Zombies and naughty steampunk books.

It's really not a big deal, I'm just confused. Why follow someone who clearly doesn't read the same things you read? I guess I could accept that they might be looking to try something new but why, then, do you leave a comment specifically mentioning all the things you do and don't read when those things are clearly opposite of the things the person you're leaving the comment for read on a regular basis? I don't get it.

Anyway. I have a bunch of books. Dark horror, naughty books and bloody books. Outstanding.
Book #265 - Thin Air (Weather Warden #6) by Rachel Caine - The more I read this series the more I like it. Fun, fast and featuring one of my favorite episodes of amnesia since Eric was found shirtless on the side of the road in the Sookie books.
Book #266 - The Strangely Beautiful Tale of Miss Percy Parker (Strangely Beautiful #1) by Leanna Renee Hieber - Kinda an awesome name for a book, huh? Well, I liked this one. It made me cry. Allegedly.
Book #267 - Magnetism (Savoy Valley #1) by Aliyah Burke, McKenna Jeffries, Taige Cranshaw - This one was a hot mess from beginning to end. Just... what? Huh? Yeah, I couldn't figure out half of what was happening.
In My Mailbox (07/03/11) - I got my TBR pile under 210. Yay!

Sorry this post was all about books. I refused to step outside today in the nasty 95F heat so I really don't have anything else to talk about.

Later.

2011 resolutions, books, huh?!?
