I've decided to leave this train behind ...

Jun 14, 2011 13:52

I am journaling from work today because I have nothing better to do. Except read. But I've already been doing that most of the day and I needed a break. Yes, my life is very hard. Yes, I'm well aware of it. Yes, I promise to never complain about being paid to read at work.

I was holding out hope that malkovich03 would be back in town for tonight's book signing, but that's a negative. She's in Arizona, therefore I'm booking it alone tonight. Besides the fact that I'll miss her witty and sarcastic comments about everything and her inability to sit still for any legnth of time, I'm not bummed out. I mean, I am, but I'm not. Does that even make sense? No. But that's the way it is. I'll attempt to be sociable on my own. *cue dramatic music* I'm really inept when it comes to talking to people I don't know, btw. Really inept. It still amazes me that I work in a job that requires me to interact with people AND that I'm fairly good at it. You'd think I'd freeze up and start drooling and batting at invisible flying things but no. I can actually act pretty decently in a semi-professional setting. It's all the other settings that get me.

Anyway. I've got a few bookish things to post about:
Book #236 - The Naked Truth (The Confederacy Treaty #1) by Lilly Cain - Sexy sci-fi is so delicious. I really, really liked this one.
Book #237 - Fresh Blood by Jennifer Colgan - Sexy vampires and the women who feed them. With a hint of BDSM and a little blood play, this is one author that I keep enjoying every time I run across her books.
Teaser Tuesday (06/14/11) - Vampries and more vampires. I'm almost done with the 2nd book, too. I'm rocking it this week!

Oh, yay! I've killed another half hour with this post. Soon I'll head out to Menlo Park where I shall drink large quantities of coffee and read a book. Which is exactly what I did this morning, I'll have you know.

Okay. I'm done now.

vampires, work, 2011 resolutions, books, friends
