Book #37 - The Giver by Lois Lowry - This book was recommended to me by my bro-in-law. It's one of their 5th grade reading books and he told me that I had to read it. So I did. Wow. The writing is incredibly dynamic. It pulls you in from nearly the first word. And it doesn't stop. My biggest complaint is that I wanted to know more about this world that Lois Lowry had envisioned. There wasn't enough. More pages. More description. More, more, more. I highly recommend this book.

Book #38 - Breaking Dawn (Twilight, #4) by Stephanie Meyer - It took me forever to finally start this book. I was daunted by the sheer number of pages. I was worried that all those deeply negative reviews I constantly hear about Stephanie Meyer's writing would be true. However. Once I got past the mushy first 200 pages and past the mental block of one particular cliche that was thrown in there, the book was Gooooood. Like, really good. I loved the section of the book told from Jacob's perspective. I loved the idea of a gathering of vampires. I loved the mental shift the werewolf pack had to make in regards to the vampire clan. It all just worked for me. Sure, it took me 6 months to finally pick up the book and start reading it and another 2 1/2 months to get past that above mentioned first 200 pages (not true, exactly. I read the pages quickly then I put the book down and didn't pick it up again for 2 1/2 months), but this book is done. And I would read it again. All 750 pages of it. *nods*
I didn't just read today. Our dog bolted out of the house when my grandma stopped by and I had to chase her down the street. OMG! I thought I was going to die. It was awful. I don't understand why people enjoy running. I just don't get it. I hate it. I am not a runner. Every part of my body hurts after. Every part. Legs. Chest. No, not my lungs or anything, my chest! Arms. I'm so fair that I turn bright red and look ridiculous. Uggh. No more running. Give me yoga any day over running. Please!
Cole and I had a long talk today about what he's going to be doing this summer. Or not doing. Mainly, he not going to be getting into any more fights with Hailey. No more pinching. No more pushing. No more being mean to one another. I'm well aware that the fighting isn't one sided. Hailey instigates it as much as Cole. But it's going to stop. Starting now. I've already told both of them that they'd be losing their DS games first, followed by TV and anything else I could think of. Yeah, I'm hardcore!
Okay. I babbled a lot. And I still don't have my new keyboard. I really need that. Anyway. Later!
