where nothing is as it seems

Guess who's driving me crazy today? Did anybody say "Cole"? Because that's the correct answer. My darling boy (sometimes little devil) is having a heck of a time lately getting his homework done. He's also taken to using this perfectly nasty tone of voice when he talks to me. It's like fingernails on chalkboard. It just grates every.single.time I hear it. Gah!

Case in point, I tell him to sit down and take his practice spelling test. Okay. Apparently, I didn't start giving him the words fast enough and he says in this snippy, nasty, awful voice "Now, MOM!" Virtual smack. We got into a bit of a raised voice match (not quite yelling but louder than a normal conversation) and he ended up pitching a bit of a fit (as in, ripping his paper and crying on the bed). I got so upset I called his dad to make it perfectly clear that Cole was not to play any X-Box or watch any TV tomorrow. His dad had a little talk with him and I told Cole that if he couldn't do his homework it was time for him to go to bed. Immediately. He's now sleeping.

I'm seriously getting tired of the temper tantrums my boy's been throwing lately.

In other news, I recovered a thousand dollars at work that had been written off as a loss. I do rock at some things.
