Three strikes make it a TURKEY

Hey y'all! I just realised that I had actually uploaded more pictures of Turkey than I thought I did. So yes, more pictures from my trip to Turkey this time last year!

Just in case you had any doubt as to where I took these pictures. Turkish flags on Istiklal Caddesi.

Entrance to Topkapi Palace. I'm not sure if I've spelt it correctly.

Monument at Taksim Square.

More Istiklal Caddesi. This is probably Istanbul's equivalent of Singapore's Orchard Road.

Commemorating the visit of Pope John Paul II to Turkey.

The trolleys on Istiklal Caddesi.

Old Istanbul.

The Golden Horn waterway.

This was the tower where I took the above pictures from. Its name begins with a "G" but as the typical tourist, I can't remember what exactly its name was.

The modern trolleys that serve thousands if not millions of Istanbul residents daily. And me, of course.

A Constantinople sunset.

Hungry for fish, anyone?

Looking at Old Istanbul from Asian Istanbul.

Leander's Tower.

Why did I take these photos? Well, Istanbul is upgrading/expanding its subway system and guess who they took this image from? Do those plasma screens and "Marina Bay" ring a bell, ladies and gentlemen?

A cruise on what has been called "Russia's Nostrils". Turkey has long controlled Russia's access to the Mediterranean and thus open, unfrozen seas.

The bridge that links Europe and Asia.

Okie dokie, more pictures from my 2007 trips coming up!
